I would much rather have the FS from the rams Atowgwe, we need a ball hawk back there, we vould easily fill our ILB spot with a draft pick but there are very few very few ball hawk FS' in this draft or any draft.

Atogew is the closet thing to Ed Reed so why not go get him IMO

They have a new defensive Head coach and 20+ mil under the cap, I doubt he'll be available. If I'm wrong and he becomes available then he's an obvious signing we need to make happen.

Im sorry, but MLB is a much more important position. As much as I would love Atogwe, you need a real good MLB to anchor a 3-4 defense.

In a 3-4 you need two ILB's to anchor the defense, cut off plays, cover the guy on their side. MLB does not exist.

I would really expect you to know this stuff.

ive said thsi before and ill say it again, just b/c they have 20 mill doesnt mean he will RESIGN with them. Its his choice who to sign with unless they tag him and i dont see the point in tagging him when they suck as a team. Just like the raiders.

This isn't the Raiders we're talking about, crappy teams let good players and stay crappy. I don't see ST.L being run like the Raiders they have a solid coach that is defensively oriented and will keep their good players.

I realize it's the players choice which is why I wrote if he is available we show jump all over him.

Personally, I'd rather have Laurinaitis at ILB. He is immensely talented and, like Zach Thomas, he has great instincts and a nose for the ball. He has the size and speed the trifecta love, and while ILB isn't quite the marquee position that OLB is, I'm hoping that if Laurinaitis is there we pull the trigger. I think he could be our Ray Lewis/Brian Urlacher as a dominating player and clear defensive leader.

The formula to winning championships is stifling Defense and a solid Running Game. If you can't stop the run and force turnovers, you are rarely going to have a chance to win a Super Bowl. Ultimately, I'm not interested in the perennial playoff treadmill one-and-done. Waanstadt could give us that. I'm interested in building a team capable of competing for a Super Bowl win.

LB's are the core of the 34 defense. While OLB's are the most valuable players in that defense, the ILB's are important too, because they make the stops in the running game and force a few turnovers. While a ballhawking S is very tempting, I would rather have a good ILB. For our 1st rounder, I see us getting a good ILB sliding down to us, but no good CB's. I suspect we may have a S like Delmas available, but we might also find one in the 2nd round as well.

This should be a productive draft for us, as there are a lot of prospects that fit our scheme that will be available at all of our picks in rounds 1 through 4. That's about as good as it gets. :)

Ohh God, NO! JL is the most overrated lb in the countrey. he cant shed blocks, is out of position and is no where in big games. he would be a bad 4-3 mlb, adn a terrible 3-4 ilb. please no!
