I will be on a cruise Sunday and I called ahead, they unfortunately will not have the game on. :( BUT, I will be bringing my mac and using direct ticket. Has anyone ever done that? I'm hoping if I buy the wifi, i'll be all good.

Thanks guys and FINS UP from the high seas!

I have to go to a funeral Sunday, in NC!!....Fins UP, hopefully I will have some playoff football to make up for missing the game.

What cruise line? And where?

Sorry dude, but you should know better than to plan a vacation during Dolphin season, unless you're going to Miami. This is your fault.

Planned the cruise so I was back in town for the Jets game, which I have tix for. Figured the cruise would have the game on. I'm guessing i'll be good with wifi. But, thanks for being a dick. ;)

NCL out of Miami, it's a "Sea Day" on Sunday.

Sky is in Nassau or GSC. The Pearl embarks on Sunday. The Epic has a sea day on Sunday.
So it will be the Epic. Great ship. Ugly but great. You going to love the Blue man Group.
Anyhow. Your chances are slim to none. The Epic sails in Europe in the summer so you will either have lots of soccer or a limited satellite West Coast package on the ship. It is an issue for a long time especially down here in Florida. Why can't cruise ships based down here, especially on the quick 3-Nighters, have a local TV package. There are many Dolphins fans who take short cruises over the weekend and they would like to see the team in road games on TV.
I do know that cruise lines are aware of that. Not sure if NCL has made changes yet. Just put in your mind that you will not see the game. Forget streaming. Internet on cruise ships are slow, very slow. Just get yourself a good app and follow the live ticker.

BUT, also don't trust shore based personal. I am assuming that's who you called. 90% of the time they have no clue what a ship does. Ship ops and shore ops are two different ball games.

With your mindset that you will not see the game you go to the technical staff onboard who is in charge for programming. They are on the lower decks. Ask them which NFL package they have on Sunday. Maybe you get lucky.

Otherwise, have a great cruise. Make sure you go to Orient and Maho Beach in St Maarten. Orient Beach (great beach) for the boobies and Maho Beach for the airplanes (you have to experience that).

When you get back let me know if you had the Fins on or not.

happy sailing and smooth seas.

If you have a buddy who has a Slingbox, you can connect from your location to wherever your friend's Slingbox is at, as long as you can connect to Wi-Fi onboard. I would buy a Slingbox as a gift for someone for Christmas so they can hook you up. :woot: Or just hook up a Slingbox at your place.

I guess you just cannot smell sarcasm:confused:

WiFi on Cruise ships are expensive...and buying 4 hours worth can buy you a 3day carnival cruise, Lol (Though I've never been on that line so I could be wrong, but from my experience they are SUPER slow and crazy priced.)

Next time you go on a short cruise make sure you book when the team is playing monday night. That way ifyou get back in the morning you'll be set.

Ozzy rules!!

I was on a Disney cruise last Sunday at Port Canaveral.
Boarded at noon and went straight to the pub. Phins-Pats was on. Phins won and the next 4 days were paradise.

Check on Cruise critic and see if anyone on the ship in the last month remembers what the home market for the on board channels are, I was on the Carnival Breeze at Thanksgiving and they were showing Miami TV... To bad the Dolphins couldn't stop the Panthers last drive... Ruined an otherwise perfect cruise!
