Illinois to retire mascot

URBANA, Ill. (AP) - The University of Illinois will retire its 81-year-old American Indian mascot, Chief Illiniwek, following the last men's home basketball game of the season on Wednesday.

Political correctness sucks.......I am sure that there are always going to be people offended by some mascots or logos. A high school here called the Palmer Terrors had an Indian mascot called Eaglebeak, but had to do away with it and now a Thunderbird is their logo. I think you need to stick with tradition.
