I understand the coaching staff wanting to get C-Pep healthy, but what is all this stuff about Harrington DESERVING a start? Or Pep haters acting like they told us all so?

Yes, Joey played with "fire" and yes he got sacked only once, but he only drove the team to 10 pts. I'll admit after the first couple of drives I thought he may be an upgrade, but really, at the end of the game, was the team any better off?

Who cares if the QB gets sacked alot and we lose by 10 or sacked once and we lose by 10?

The line didn't run block any better, the defense didn't stop 3rd down conversions, and Mularkey didn't call better plays.

We all know we need more running plays. We all know we need a better line. We all know we need a better OC. But I don't think Pep played badly the past couple of weeks. I think its better he be in and gaining confidence than be benched and losing confidence.

Maybe Joey will surprise me though, but he didn't last Sunday.

But Joey led more drives that put us into scoring position, we just didn't score. 1 blocked FG, 1 missed FG and 2 times in long FG range where we punted (or tried to). Plus on the missed FG drive, he had us at the 1 yard line if it weren't for a hold on Peelle that wouldn't have affected the play.

I'm not bashing CPepp, but those sacks cost us alot of yards and kept us from even being in scoring distance more than 2 or 3 times a game.

Did you really watch that game?

Didn't the defense hold them to like 68 yards at half time?

The defense played great, that was the same team that beat the bengals and ran all over them the prior week. The team as a whole played good. Those two pics are part of football. Brown dropped an easy pass that would have been a first down & Chambers slipped on a pass that would have been an easy score.

There are 3 QB's on the team, if the first one doesn't get it done then you play the 2nd one. It's REALLY that simple. Save your Culpepper shirt for another day...

Correct. Penalties are what put us in bad positions offensively. Both of Joey's INTs, if I'm not mistaken were on 3rd and long. I know the second one was on 3rd. It had been 3rd and five and then a penalty backed us up and made it 3rd and long. If we'd keep ourselves in favorable situations, better things will happen for this offense. The Pats game was a glimpse of it. It will get better with fewer mental errors.

Also for those who keep smacking Harrington around: don't forget he only had one full practice with the 1st team.

He didn't even have a full week of practice.

I'm am full and ready to support Harrington this week just as I have done for the past few years when it was all those other QBs. He is definitely better than all of those.

Joey did some good things in the game on Sunday, but until the team eliminates the mental mistakes, we are not going to win many games. The first INT was a great play by Asante Samuel coming off his man to jump the route, so I don't put that all on Joey. The second INT was a mixup between WWelker and Joey, so Joey is to blame partly for that one as well. We still had too many penalties in key situations, which were not Joey's fault.

It seemed like the same game as most of the past few years.....the D plays awesome and holds the other team down for three quarters, but the O cannot get us the lead during that time, and then the D makes a mistake in the fourth quarter and the lead is to insurmountable to overcome.

Be aware that the Patriots probably scouted mostly Culpepper before the game. The Pats had no idea that Joey was going to start until last Saturday. Lets see what Joey can do now that the Jets will have a whole week to scout and prepare for him.

Great points. Believe me, if Jim Kelly could QB us to a victory right now I'd be all for it. I just don't think the problems are in the QB play. They are in the running game, (the line and the play calling) are killing us.

What gets me is our defense gave our offense countless chance to win this game yet I keep hearing they couldn't get off of the field on 3rd downs. It's not just the last one that counts guys they are all crucial. I'm pretty sure that through the entire 2nd and 3rd quarters our defense got off of the field on just about every 3rd down there was. The offense need to get points on one of those chances or maybe when the special teams sets them up on the opponents 35 yard line. I'm not saying this defense is great but it's the least of our problems. Why can't some fans admit our inept offense is so much m,ore of a problem the defense isn't even worthe mentioning. How can we crucify a defense that gets 12.2 point per game in support???

We are better off with harrington. Culpepper couldn't drive the offense down the field against the texans, while harrington with one full practice was able to sustain drives against a pretty decent defense. We still find a way to lose by shooting ourselves in the foot. We drop the snap for a punt, we jump offsides on third and short, we hold when a pass is completed to the one yard line, and we miss field goals. The difference is that joey gives us a chance to see improvement week to week. Ask yourself honestly if from the bills game to the texans game there was any improvement and the honest answer is no. At least this week chambers and mcmike got involved.

um if he keeps getting sacked 5 times a game...he would probably get injured badly...and why? Saban is doing this because CPEP has been a sitting duck...and he wants to prevent further injury to his knee and shoulder.

Go Fins!!!

True. I think that most people need to realize that Cpepp WILL be our starting QB in the future sooner or later. How do I know this? Because Saban ****ing said that! Instead of people hating on or supporting Joey Harrington or hating on or supporting Cpepp just realize what is obivious instead of blaming everything on the QB position. I think JH played well and led the offense down the feild fairly comfortably even though stupid penalties (peelle) and missed fg's seems to fall squarely on his shoulders. I'm going to support whoever gives us the best chance to win on Sunday and right now that's Harrington. I still believe Cpepp will turn things around before the year is done.

true that. we had more than enough chances. everyone on offense had their fair share of mental mistakes. the gap's (with ne) widening now and unless we get our stuff together, forget even coming close to the hopes we had in the pre-season. i think joey's a step-up, at least for this year, over pepp only because pepp doesn't have the mobility that's such a big part of his game. either way, i'm supporting whoever's in there and i just wanna see some W's.
