I mean idk we all know alot of guys would rather make 2 mil a year and have a shot in the playoffs than 10 million to be 3-13
 
If someone was offering you $10 million and someone wasn't, who would you want to go with?

In the NFL, no we don't know too many that would take 2 mill over 10.
 
Especially if the possibility of having a drastically reduced career is in the mix.. :evil:
 
I think he knows his shoulder isn't going to hold up which makes the decision to go with the money a lot easier. Get that guaranteed money now because they are soon going to realize your shoulder is worse than expected.
 
He wants the money up front, just in case his arm doesn't come back. It is far from crazy. I know we are a better team but if any team really wants overpay for a guy, you can't bust on him b/c of it. Especially in his situation.
 
It comes down to him not having the confidence in his shoulder ever being 100% again and him wanting the pay day. It had NOTHING to do with turning around an organization or being successful on the football field, because that's just not going to happen in New Orleans the way it is here in Miami. Point is though, we got the man we needed and the better QB for the job. It's a done deal, let's move on and enjoy the thoughts of our future with Pep!

Who cares about Brees? We found our quarterback of the future and he's Daunte Culpepper. Shutup and get used to it.
 
Look...If I'm Drew Brees and I'm coming off my injury, and there's THIS MUCH INTEREST in my services, I'm GONNA MAKE SURE that I take full advantage of this PAYDAY. He's not guaranteed to ever have this opportunity again. What if he somehow SUCKS (which he will in New Orleans), or never fully recovers from his injury? or he plays, but not so good...???
We cant really hate on him for not coming here. If I have a chance to get many more millions I'd do it. Remember it's not like he's a DOLFAN or anything. He has no alliance to us.
 
If he wanted to win he would have come here plain and simple. I think he if he had any confidence in his shoulder he would have come here, played well and probably got the money that he wanted through in incentives. He's not going to starve if he dosen't sign for 10mil gurenteed. He really dissapointed me with the way he choose to go.

the only alliance he has is to his family. And taking more money he is securing his family's future. Can't knock a man for that.

And who's to say the Saints will suck? In this league teams go from last to first overnight. I mean for pete sakes, we have seen it year after year after year. The Saints aren't awful......and who knows they could be on top of the NFL world tomorrow. Who knows!

Why on earth are people still spiting venom at Brees?

The guy made a decision he thought was best and/or one the Phins forced on him by trading for Culpepper.

Either way the guy didn't pee in your Cheerios dude and considering many on the board think Culpepper was a better acquisition, let it go.

cant blame the guy for wanting more money, he doesnt know how long he has in this league. with the injury or not, he can go down at anytime. with the shoulder on top of that. get over it. we still got our man
 
You can't live on 2 million a year, huh?

People are shallow and materialistic. Say hi to Satan for me when you're down there.

Brees jinxed himself with his greed. Everything is about Kharma... his kid will be mugged on the way to school, his house will become infested with bugs, his wife will cheat on him with some dude with a cannon-sized willy, and his shoulder will end his career early.

And he will have a long life to sit and wonder about what might have been living in Miami playing for a superbowl team.
