I'm excited about the draft because...

Does anyone else have the feeling that this year we may actually have a clue as to what our 1st pick will be BEFORE we draft him. I can't wait. For the first time in quite a while we may hear cheers when we make our 1st pick. How many years in a row now have we all been like "WTF" when we make our first pick. Lets see.....
2007- definitely
2006-you know it
2005-I would say Ronnie was somewhat questioned.
2004-Yep
2003- (second rounder) Did Eddie ever even play a game in the NFL?
Ok ok. You guys see where I'm going. I'm just excited that we might get a good LOGICAL pick this year. I can't wait.
I'll add that in no way am I saying that Ronnie was a bust pick. I'm just saying that at the time of the pick alot of questions were asked as to why we picked him over Cadillac Williams and others. I love Ronnie but I don't think he can be our feature back. He should be used with another back all the time. Problem is, we may have already done the damage that we were all afraid of doing.
 
actually contrary to popular belief i loved last years draft..as a team we got alot faster we and we got alot of players that we can depend on to give 150% of themselves to each and every minute...and fans are spoiled no matter who we go with someone will spill thier eyes out and im sorry after the first pick im sorry im not excited about the draft
 
While everyone has opinoins of what they do and don't want (me included... see countless other draft senario threads).... I feel pretty confident in saying if we pick at number 1, no matter who we take, they will make our team better. That is the entire purpose of the draft, and that's all that I ask. I'm even game for trading down, I think we'd get more quality in more places that way actually... I think the only way I'll be upset with the first round of this year's draft will be if we pull a Vikings and pass... lol.

I agree. Our last draft was way to under-rated. We got a great center, a speedy reciever whos prone to making a big play, possibly the future QB, a good FB, and who knows what else some of the other players might turn into.
 
I too loved last years draft, there were two players I wanted more than what we picked but we need the guys we picked. My picks I wanted were P.Willis,and M.McCauley but Ginn really shows flashes of top talent and plays a position that needs a couple of years to prove his worth and L.Bo looked fantastic when he was finally allowed to play.And yes I wanted P.Willis way before the draft not after watching him play for S.F. He plays a position that allows instant justification upon position of draft whereas T.Ginn gets slack because everyone (a lot of people) expects him to come in and be a superstar now.I would love for someone to explain or justify dumping on a QB playing in the NFL in his first four games with 3/4 of a bad roster around him because he's not playing to your liking.
If we have more drafts like the last one we will be in great shape for years to come.

although I dont want to do it , drafting Matt Ryan number one would be no more insane than drafting Ted Ginn at 9, Jason Allen at 16, Vernon Carey at 18 or Ronnie Brown at number 2.
 
im still bitter we picked jason allen...i wanted antonio chromartie that year and we picked allen instead..that was my most memorable WTF in that last few years draft
