I work for a major news organization and the folks in the newsroom say Brees is signed.

Just shouted to me.
 
Been hearing this around several different message boards. HOPE ITS FOR REAL!!!

Dolfantalk.net is saying it was on ESPN

6 years 55 million Have not been able to confirm.

Have been listening back and forth to WQAM and 790 THe Ticket and they are saying NOTHING about Brees signing.
 
Two guys in the newsroom yelling to me that Fox (Sports? News?) reports Brees signed something like a 6 year/$58m deal. Then they tell me 5 minutes later ESPN will have that news soon, too.

This is all I have.

My source is the other journalists I work for who know I'm a Fins fan. Fingers very, very crossed.

I've also seen on other message boards that Miami has signed Brees for 6yrs. and $55 mil. It is supposedly from foxsports, but there is nothing on the website.
 
If this is true I,m getting plastered tonight and going to work with a hangover.:friday: :drinker:
 
John Clayton said that Phins and Brees were going back to the negotiating table sometime in the next 2 hours, and they're trying to find a middle ground. They're certainly making the push to get him. Clayton said, one way or the other, the Phins want to have a quarterback deal done tonight, so they can move on and focus on other areas.
