As much as I think Poole is going to be a really good CB, there is no reason to rush him back so soon from such a serious injury IMO. Even if he was cleared to play before the 10th week, he wouldn't be up to full speed and could it be just as big a liability playing with him than it is playing without him. I'd rather him sit out the season, continue to rehad so that he could be ready for next season at full strength.

Don't worry. They're not going to bring back early. If he plays this season, it will be because he's ready to play. I hope he's going to be ready to play, we could really use him as long as he's 100%.

I agree entirely. He doesn't get activated unless he is ready to go. He has from 4-7 weeks yet before the string has to be pulled and a tremendous amount of change can happen in the healing process. I am happy to read he has been in on all the meetings, etc. At least he should be ready with the mental side of Saban's defensive backfield schemes.

I'm more concerned with him just learning the defense this year (and being 100% next year) .

You learn best at full speed on the field.
You don't learn much if you aggrivate a serious injury also.

I think Saban's not the kind of coach who would rush an injured player back and possibly ruin his career so the team would have some temporary success with the secondary.

Only Herm Edwards would do that....

I agree with Dolfan 5000, I don't think that Saban would risk a players future with putting him back on the field too soon. Since we will have all that extra cap money next year, what free agents will be available at the CB position ?

Let's bring back Patrick Surtain!! Oh wait... Reality check he's a d**n Chief for the next 5 years. You think he'll come back and retire as a Dolphin? I really miss him in 'Fins uniform. Will be weird watching him play for the Chiefs when I come down for that game!!

even at 50% he's better that our boy howard
