I'm really scared about our QB situation next year. It scares me to think that Gus could still be our starter and that the only thing we'll do at the position is bring in guys like Printers & a rookie of compete with Lemon for the backup job. I do want a QB of the future and, I don't want to overpay for a guy like Rivers but, I still think we need someone other than Gus starting at QB. There aren't a lot of options for a starting QB (I'd rather have Frerotte than Kitna) so, I'm scared about what may be. JMO.
 
I rather have Gus at QB than another joyrneyman stopgap trying to learn the offese. So unless we get some young QB, or one of the guys currently with the team steps up Gus should be the starter.
 
same here. i dont see us having a shot at anyone except for MAYBBBBEEE cutler and id like that but i see him giong very early.
 
it would certainly be hard to do worse than Gus. 70.8 qb ratings don't grow on trees, you know... you have to try hard to find a quarterback that mediocore. Maybe ray Lucas will come back.

This situation in Miami has been allowed to drag out for SIX years. Saban needs to stop it right now.

He has to have the QB of the future on the roster before training camp.

And if that QB of the future is a rookie, then they need to bring in a better caretaker QB... because this team could actually be GOOD next year with even an OK quarterback. Gus is not that guy.

And the "knows the offense" thing is very, very overrated. If you bring in a veteran early in the offseason, there is no reason on God's green earth that they can't know it as well as anyone by training camp.
 
I betcha the Rivers will be better than Cutler, and I'm sure he would be able to start sooner. If management absolutely feels that they have to burn a 1st on a QB, then you might as well as see if San Diego will bite
 
I hope we draft someone and I hope Gus only starts a few games next year.

I agree. I think Rivers is our quickest and surest path to a Superbowl. But, of course, all of it is risk, that's just my opinion after looking at all our options.
 
how about Drew Brees.... say San Diego misses the playoffs, which is more then a possibilty now.... think they could sort of give rivers a shot and let brees go? via trade?

Brees would have to sign a new contract in order to be traded. I think he will leave as a free agent................................ And come to Miami.:D

I find that less likely than Rivers, but if it happened, absolutely I'd take Brees, in a heartbeat.

I just want someone who really feels like they have it in them to get it done... and then give them every chance, from the start of training camp, to do it.

I just want to stop wasting time with people we know can't do it. No more splitting time in camp... pick someone to take us there and give them every shot to do it. Neither Jay was that guy, Gus is not that guy.

Find that guy... there are a lot of possibilities. I'm sure Saban will find one.

With how hard it is to find a franchise QB these days, San Diego would be foolish to let Drew Brees go. I think Rivers will be getting the boot. They don't know what they have in Rivers, but they know what they have in Brees.
 
i agree. we need to draft or somehow obtain through a trade the qb of the future.

im sick of what has happened to the qb position since #13 left years ago.
