Let me start off by saying that i'm a big Ricky fan from his days in collage to the Saints and right up till his Dolphin days.... But i'm getting tired of reading about a guy who proberly won't play for us again...Listen Ricky had two good if not great season's for us,....but he failed three test and finally failed a fourth for the year ban, dosn't matter that the failed test wasn't for pot he should have none what he was putting in his body.... Saban was looking to trade him thats the only reason he stood by him....I think we as fans need to move on now , let Ricky go to the CFL and have a good year and if he gets reinstated ....and thats a big IF....then maybe Miami can get a 5th rd pick for him ....cause really thats all he's worth because of the drugs and the lifetime ban he's facing if he fails again I hope Ricky goes to the CFL and tears it up and comes back and has a good NFL career with someone....but you know what i only think half of that will come true....i don't think Ricky will play again in the NFL ...i hope i'm wrong

I gotta say I'd much rather have RW backing up RB in 07' then trading RW for a 5th round pick.JMO

I really think Miami will try and trade him if he has a good year in the CFL ....i don't think they will get anything higher then a 5th ...if anyone is actually interested .... after the 2007 season he's a free agent so anything will do if he's reinstated

I love ronnie, but ricky was the better back last year, he will come back and be a monster back up, and a great secret weapons, people will have forgotten about him by 07. he will be a dolphin, bc noone will trade for him, and saban likes the guy

because of RW's contract, he is probably worthy of a 3-4 rounder.

I think he is with Miami until 2008. This year does not count. He will just be a bonus when he comes back. Do you think Saban thinks a 5th rd. pick is more valuable than Ricky would or was as a backup?

If i were another team I wouldnt even give up a 5th for Ricky its jut not worth it

He needs to be cut!! that's it, end of story. and please, who gives a damn in he's great in the CFL???? that's like the dumbest thing to say....it'd be pretty sad it he wasn't good there...cuz the CFL is like the crappiest of the crappiest..people who couldn't even make training squads or play in the arena football...their endzone is like a runway for a small plane

Tell that to the Broncos. If they got Ricky for a 5th, I could very easily see him rushing for 2,000 yards in a season in their system. Not to mention the receiving yards he'd get. If the dolphins could get a player that could put up that kind of production, even if just for one year, for a fifth round draft pick I would be all over it. That's the kind of boost that could help a team win it all.

Ricky+salary+ability > 5th rounder

Couldnt agree more.:drinkers:

Does anybody even bother to listen to what the coach (and ultimate decision maker) of this football team says?
Ricky as running partner with Ronnie in '07 & '08 a much better value than any draft pick the Dolphins could ever hope to realize in a Draft Pick. I think this years draft was a bit different, based on the fact that the Broncos apparently had NO reservations about at least looking into a trade for Ricky, based primarily on their abundance of Draft picks and desire for a playmaker at RB. I doubt however that they would have offered anything higher than a #3, possibly #2, but I don't believe that Saban ever had any thoughts of trading Ricky, regardless of what the rumors may have been.
The guy even has Ricky over for pizza, I mean come on. His statements that first day of the rookie camp should answer any questions about what Saban thinks about Ricky Williams. And really should put to rest any thoughts that he'll trade him within the next 2 years.

I agree with what you saying however I would like to see him finish his career with the Fins. He would still make a great backup to Ronnie. After all the pain he has put us Fins Fans through I would like to see him come through for us.
