.. of all these people bashing wanny.. im no wanny supporter but you guys have to look at the whole picture.. you guys claim he sucked and we're in this mess because of him blahblahblah.. well when he was here we were leagues better than what we are now.. think about it.. we had fiedler, williams, chambers and mcmike on o.. no culpepper, harrington, booker, no welker, no ronnie.. yeah he may have blown some draft picks but hasnt saban? i like saban and all but too many people are thinking hes the next coming of Don Shula and i hope that he is but right now i really dont think he will be.. he hasnt shown me anything GREAT but i do like the fiery attitude when hes on the sidelines something wanny DIDNT have.. but i dont think wanny should be to blame for this team sucking like they have been doing. And i really hope Harrington excells now that he has some in game reps against NE. I just hope he can correct the mental errors and go from there
 
It is to early to say that Saban has made bad draft choices and Wanny did good because he was given a lot of talent and then drove the team into the ground, he was a bad coach and couldn't draft or manage a team worth a lick.
 
Ummm the reason Saban is struggling more than any other reason is because he has to FIX the mess Wanny left. I'm sorry, I think anybody say atleast SAban is going for proven commodities when he uses Cpep for a second, Joey for a sixth and such and such. Wanny drafted EDDIE Bleeping MOORE with a 2nd rounder . . . people said he was a 5th rounder at best . . . he did this OVER Anquan Boldin. He drafted Fletcher with a first rounder. He lost a 2nd and a 3rd for Feeley and LAmar Gordon. Yea he drafted Chambers and McMike, as much as I like the 2 . . . McMike has DONE NOTHING at all NEVER in any of his seasons in the second half, and Chambers had a big game in Buffalo last year that pretty much bolted him to a Pro Bowler or he would not have been a Pro Bowler. Fiedler wasn't the answer . . . are u happy with 10-6 and first round outs/just misses . . . then Jay is your guy, atleast Nick went out and is trying to get guys to take that next step . . . we would have never done that with Wanny, and we may not with Nick either, but u can't judge him already man.

Oh yea, 2 first rounders for Ricky . . . I like Ricky and all, but we could have had book end tackles right now with those picks man. Please man, don't get me started
 
all im trying to say is you cant use wanny as an 'out' for this team.. saban inherited a BETTER team than what wanny had when he took it from JJ. Wanny had absolutely NO OFFENSE when he got the team, atleast when saban got it he had probowl talent on both sides of the ball instead of only the defensive side of the ball.. im not tryin to say saban sucks he needs to get fired blah blah and im not saying wanny is the best coach in nfl history, im just saying you cant blame wanny for what this team is doing this year. I personally think saban needs to adapt to what hes got instead of trying to force his system on players that arent a good fit for it. And this goes for Mularkey also.. I think he needs to be down on the damn sideline if he isnt already like Linehan was last year.. He started up in the box and the offense started sputtering then he moved down to the sidelines to hear and feel what the players were feeling and it made us better.. just a thought :o
 
and no i havent lost a screw.. i think the people that lost a screw are the ones that think we're a great team this year when we're not even bad.. we're HORRIBLE :boohoo:
 
So, you're claiming because Wanny had a system that got us wins makes him a better coach?

The teams we had with Wanny weren't even teams, they were like...hollow shells of a team. Our drafting was garbage 80% of the time, we handled free agency terribly; basically we had the laughing stock of front offices.

Just because we win 10 or so games doesn't make us a good team, look at Indianapolis. I would say Dungy is like a Wanny in one way, because his teams duck out of the playoffs the first round EVERY YEAR

im not saying hes the better coach or that hes better than saban.. ive looked at tons of posts on here that directly blame the man for this 1-4 record and it shouldnt be. yeah you're right we had a GOOD, SOLID 'CORE' of players, but the rest we could do away with. What im saying is that its time for the players, coaches and fans to take responsibility and stop using wanny as a scape goat for this horrendous year so far. Is it his fault that we have like 20+ sacks given up? no. Is he the reason why our secondary look like pop warner players out there? no. Is he the reason for the fumbles and interceptions? no. Look, I support this team 110% but something needs to change and i think saban made a big mistake by not going HARD after offensive lineman this year and a GOOD CB. Daniels is good but he cant do it all himself.

Saban is a value guy man, maybe he thought there wasn't a solid guy available and picked a guy in Allen who may do wonders for our secondary in the future. U make it seem like if we drafted a HARD Olineman that he would make a big difference on this line right now. U can't argue with 2005's draft, he produced some solid players. And eventually I think this draft will be just as good.

We aren't terrible at CB either, Will Allen has been good (yea he has been in a few penalites, but I like his game, was a good pickup), Travis Daniels if he can stay healthy is a solid guy . . we had Poole in the works but he got hurt, Goodman has been solid . . . I mean u are throwing out who he should have drafted and what he should have drafted, but those guys probably don't make any impact over the guys we have now.

The only thing I agree with u is that if we are still blaming Wanny, we need to stop . . . just hearing that name is bad karma for this club. We have a new coach and new systems, a supposed number 1 receiver who has seen 5 different OC's in 5 years . . . I mean it takes time my friend, and its not gonna happen over night.

oh i know dude it takes time and the picks saban made were good picks although i still think we should have went oline or atleast picked up one out of the FA's.. and not some scrubs that we have on the line now.. What i see mostly is bad playcalling and execution on both sides of the ball. we've had a stellar defense down here for a while now and they are starting to become slower and weaker and older. saban and co. need to adapt to thier strenghs not thier weaknesses such as Zach as a blitzer or RONNIE BROWN AS A QB!! what kind of bs was that :( Im just HIGHLY DISSAPOINTED with this team this year. All of us thought we were missing one piece of the puzzle and that was the QB position but now i think all of us realize we're hurting at alot of positions that we're hidden by last years performance
