Even with Fisher's mediocre record, I prefered him to the assitants available. At least he was a known quality who had lead his team to the Superbowl.

Now, I am scared we might end up with another Cam Cameron situation. Our main options now are Chud, Philbin and Zimmer (at least in the Dolphins' eyes). Do any of these guys have the personality to make it as a headcoach in the NFL?

As much as Chud has demonstrated his ability to develop a QB, does he have the chops for the head job? Watching some of his interviews, I'm not so sure. He carries himself a bit like a beta-type personality, something that will not translate well for a head coach. I had concerns about Philbin (how much does he really do for the Packer offense?) even before the death of his son, but now, I don't think he will be in the proper frame of mind to take on this bigger role. As for Zimmer, I think he might be the best option, but this will cause us to tweak the defense which was our better unit. I don't know enough about Zimmer to tell if he has what it takes for the head job.

The failed pursuit of Harbaugh and now Fisher really has me worried about this franchise. No reputable coach wants to come here. This can only lead me to believe that we have some DEEP problems as an organization far beyond our talent.

If we don't get it right with this hire, we will be a step away from becoming the Bills.

They'd jump at the chance to come here. But none of them will demand a mutual decision making process like Fisher did. We very well might get one of them, but Ireland will be running the show again.

another cam camron situation is fine with me what did that get us last time? 1-15 record adn now were in the driver seat for matt barkley.

We are going to end up better for this. Fisher is known on what he will give but like many head coaches who were great the just needed a chance. I'd rather take shots at greatness then above average like Fisher

No coach in todays NFL needs to have TOTAL control of a team. You need checks and balances, so not getting Fisher is fine with me. Ireland will be under the microscope even more which is even better for this team moving forward. He has a bad draft and bad offseason Ross shouldn't keep him around. All in all, i judge not getting Fisher as a push.

He didnt want total control. He just wanted the ability to say no to another Vince Young.
