Hey don't know anything about the cap numbers if they work or not but I will layout what I think would be a great offseason for us as far as progressing forward rather quickly!

Trade 2nd rounder (San Diego's) to Cinci for Chad Johnson
Trade 1st overall and other consideration to Dallas for both 1st, Spears, Carpenter and Barber
Mock Draft
1st-DE/DT
1st-CB/S
2nd-DE/DT
3rd-LB
4th-TE (great blocker)
6-OL
7-FB

Free agent pickups:
OL-Flozell Adams
OL-Alan Faneca
CB-Dom Foxworth (only 24 and would come cheaper then others)
WR-D.J. Hackett
CB-Ken Hamlin (struggled in Dallas last year, good potential)
QB-Drew Henson (3rd string QB, parcells familiar with him)

Current Keepers
Trent Green-Backup QB (why not, he's already under contract)
Zach Thomas-LB (deserves one more year then he can start his coaching career with us, might have to be let go to afford some of the FA's up there)
Jason Taylor (can't stress this one enough)
Ricky Williams (3rd option at HB, can play in special teams aswell, cheap)
Greg Camarillo (develop at special teams)

Gone:
L.J. Shelton
Rex Hadnot
D. Martin
Marty Booker
Channing Crowder (no room for him)
Cameron
Keith Traylor

Starters
QB-Beck
HB-Barber
FB-Mauia/draftee/fa pikcup
WR-Chad Johnson
WR-Ted Ginn Jr.
TE-Draftee/FA pickup
OL-Faneca, Flozell, Carey, Satele and Mormino
DEFENSE
DE-Spears
DT-V. Holliday
DE-J. Taylor
OLB-J. Porter
ILB-Z. Thomas
ILB-B. Carpenter
OLB-Draftee/ FA pickup
CB-Will Allen, Draftee, Dom Foxworth
S-Draftee, FA pickup, Y. Bell (Key position to address)

Sorry, but no way does that trade happen.

Both 1st rounders and Barber? Understandable.
Both 1st rounders, Carpenter and Spears? Maybe.

Not all three players.

I'm pretty sure we have more picks than that. I know we at least have two 2nds and two 7ths. (from Welker trade)

couple things I noticed -

- you are putting us in serious trouble counting on Mormino to start

- fat chance to land Faneca and Flozell in FA...especially if we have to pay C.Johnson and Barber.

- Hamlin was very good in Dallas last year....look for them to resign him

- Drew Henson?!?!?! are you serious?

- you seem to want to run a 3-4....in that case, JT is your OLB, not DE....and V.Holliday is a DE, not a DT.

I wasn't sure about that. My memory has gone to shambles.

As of right now for this year, I'm pretty sure we have these picks.

1st
2nd
2nd (From San Diego)
3rd
4th
6th
7th

We traded the 5th for Trent Green.

And some people think we may get a compensatory pick.

True which is why I said other considerations, from what I've heard the Boys are shopping both Spears and Carpenter pretty cheap (as low as a 7th rounder). I'm sure there is a way something can get done in which we net a surplus of players with the Boys.

We have a surplus of LBs? I don't see why Crowder would be expendable, but I could be wrong. I think that he's going to be a good player, just has to develop a bit.

I really wish that I had your optimism with being able to sign all of these guys, but I just don't know how many big names that we'll bring in.

I really don't get why everyone wants Barber to start, either. I think Ronnie is a top 5 back when healthy. And, yes, I know that healthy is the operative word, but we have a good RB contingent with Chatman and Booker back there too.

There are 2 things that Ronnie has proven to me. 1 good and 1 not so.

1. He is a beast

2. He can not stay healthy carrying the whole load unfortunatly. Marion would be a great number 2. Then we could stil have Lorenzo as a good change of pace 3rd down guy.

Why isn't Jason Allen at safety. He had a hell of a second half this past season. Bell/Allen are good enough at safety for me.

Why do we need to waste a 7 on a FB? and you wanna carry 3 fb's?
Why is Ronnie not starting? Holliday's not a NT.....He could be a DE on the 3-4 tho.I doubt we get Fanaca tho Flozell is posible. At TE we need not so much a great blocker but a guy that can actually catch the football and we will NOT get 6 free agents, let alone 6 top free agents so stop hanging out with Ricky dude...lol

Ozzy rules!!

1. Faneca will be in Arizona

2. Branch is out for a while next year, Seattle will resign Hackett

3. We will not give up a second rounder for Ocho-Cinco, we need that pick to rebuild

4. Adams is good but a gazillion years old.

I like your zeel, but we are rebuilding not trying to make the playoffs next year. We need to get younger and then start to get better. I know it stinks thinking we will have a couple more rough years, but with the roster we have its all part of the road to properly rebuilding. Patience is definitely a virtue in the NFL rebuilding process when its done right.
