if there is a trade it will happen after the draft this weekend. i think the lions will see what they can get at quarterback during the draft. if i'm wrong it will happen from now to 10:59 tomorrow morning.

ok.....is this just your opinion or did you hear it from somewhere?

this is my opinion. i live in iowa i get no dolphin info only from this great site. the best on the web.

if the trade doesn't happen during or before the draft it's not going to happen at all. at least, it shouldn't... that doesn't mean we won't get him, it would mean we'd just have to wait until he's released.

The LIONS want a pick in THIS years draft ... not NEXT years ... thus they will likely hold out until day 2 this year to see if they can get any bites.

For us, it doesn't matter since - I believe we were offering a pick in NEXT years draft ...

It's pretty much a mute point now. Joey will be coming to Miami barring some huge turn of events. Many of the teams looking for a QB have either secured one, about to, or will get one in the draft. Millen, for some weird reason, thinks he might get someone to bite on draft day for Joey. Well news flash Millen, Joey said he only wants to play for Miami, so why would a team trade away a pick (they can't get back) to you for a QB who may never agree to sign with them ? I guess we'll wait until after the draft, but he better not wait too long or the price will go down or Nick will just wait until released. I see Martin signed with NO, so another potential option is gone, so I have to believe Nick is set on Joey and not nervous about losing him in any way.

I have serious doubts as to whether we even have to trade for him. IMO, Millen screwed up so badly that they will be forced to release him. We already have an agreement in place with JH, so when that happens ... BINGO, we have our back up.

Millen is an idiot. THe FIns want Joey by June 9th so he can attend the QB school June 9-11th (IIRC) Joey is due the roster bonus June 15th (IIRC) and Millen is stated to be willing to wait and release Joey around then making him miss the Fin's QB camp.

So rather then take the fin's 6th round pick, Millen will play hard ball and end up with squat?!!? Moron.....Knowing we can get him for free during a year with few picks, Millen is crazy to think Saban won't wait 5 days to save a draft pick even if he misses that first camp

oh, I thought maybe you had found some tidbit on the situation. I live in Rochester which is Buffalo country so all I get is Bills news.....and even then it's not really news. I really don't know if the harrington trade will happen after the draft because if the lions want a 6th next year and a 7th this year they would have to do it on or before the draft. If they want to settle on next years 6th...which is fine with me....they could just do it after the draft. But in some ways I think Saban wants to get the QB situation done soon because our other option, Jamie Martin just signed with the Saints so our options are very limited.

I know the Dolphins aren't allowed to talk with Joey while he's with another team, but he's certainly allowed to talk with the Miami players. Do you think one of them might "accidentally" forget their playbook at Joey's house or something? At least that way he'll be somewhat prepared if we have to wait until June.

Matt Millan is making his mistake worse by not pulling the trigger. If the dolphins hve a quality QB fall intheir lap in the draft, we could easily retract the offer and pick up Harrington when he is released. I hope that is the case and we dont have to give that idiot anything and let Harrington come here on his own accord.

See em in Thanksgiving if Im not mistaken. I hope they put Millan in to return the opening kickoff.

:yeahthat:...Joey said he's coming to miami he's coming to miami.Just relax it'll happen soon.We should just tell millen,You don't want our 6th next year?.Well then you take this 7th rounder or you aint getting jack $%^&.

If Cutler is there at #16 would you guys take him and have him back up DC...or do we just stick with Joey?

Personally, I think Saban should just retract the offer now and tell Millen too bad, so sad, next time you might want to reconsider playing hardball with us (if you're around long enough for there to be a next time).

Just stick with Joey. He probably won't end up costing us a draft pick and who's to say that Cutler will be any better in the long run? Plus, the 'Phins have too many other needs.
