The way I see this roster, if Tannehill progresses the way he should (and we are obviously not changing QB anytime soon) we should be pretty set on offense. Obviously we aren't perfect on the o line or at RB, but you can't have studs at every position and finding a quality back in the later rounds of the draft seems to be easier to do these days. IMO, our major holes are on defense and we need to face the cream of the crop of QBs this season.
Our linebackers are all average at best, the #2 corner position is a huge question mark as no one knows if Finnegan can return to his old form, our safeties look pretty good on paper but Reshad Jones was less than stellar last year and Delmas has big injury issues, and finally we're pretty good on the D line but Wake seems to be more injury prone these days and who the hell knows what Dion Jordan will become.
Just my opinion, but if I was Dennis Hickey, I'd be looking very hard at a Dee Ford type of guy, or maybe even one of the top corners at #19, even though the popular belief is that we'll be taking a RT.
Just my humble opinion. Thoughts?

Eh, did this on my phone and I don't know how to edit the title. My bad lol.

No defense looks ok compared to offense. Hickey made some decent signings on defense. O line is still priority number one!

Watch the sack video and find the edit key, believe me, you'll want too.

I'm glad you're not Hickey. Our offense isn't anywhere near good enough yet.

I think we need to start looking at quarterbacks as well. Ryan is not showing signs of progressing to a franchise quarterback

Insomnia - you need to get some more sleep.
Priority #1 still has to be the O-line and protecting Tannehill and setting things up to improve the running game. With some of the free agent signings, maybe we allow ourselves the luxury of one high pick on a playmaker, if available eg TE.
It would be nice to get a top tackling Mike LB and the best Safety, etc. But getting 2 or 3 good players on the O-line strikes me as the major priority.
Later draft picks have to go to adding depth in a number of positions. I am even supportive of trading down for extra picks.

We cannot score enough points a game..been a problem for a while, IMO we need to keep trying to fix it.

We NEED to draft a RT by the second round. Past that, I believe we can fill the OG's with a vet and what we have, and not lose anything this year. Not saying we should not draft a G to develop, just that I don't see it and something we have to do.

I think free agency has given the Dolphins some flexibility in the draft, but if the team wants Ryan Tannehill and the offense to take the next step the draft should be heavy on offense. Look at all the talent Manning and Brees have to work with. How would Tannehill look with those teams?

I love defense and the team does have some needs there. I really dislike the linebackers on the team and we need another corner to challenge Finnegan. I pick a linebacker fairly early and maybe a corner in the 3rd or 4th, but the rest of the draft would be offense including one of the top receivers.

I agree with the OP.
Mosely in the 1st, and Borland in the 3rd.
Ellerbee and Wheeler both sux and they were a mistake. Draft these two players and cut our losses next year with those bums.
Our secondary and dline are very good. All we need is outstanding tough tackling machines to stop the Bills and Jets from running all over us.

The offensive line might still need to be addressed but I don't think the Dolphins will have a shot at a tier 1 lineman at 19 so that needs to be considered. I don't want a high risk or project guy at #19 so unless someone (being a lineman) falls to us I'm kinda okay with best player available. After looking it over the last few days I'm hoping Ebron falls a couple spots to us, I think he is one of the closest sure fire picks we could make at 19 that would be useful. I would love to get Evans but no-one has him lasting beyond 10.

I think that second tier of lineman will last into round two or three so we could look at filling that then. Otherwise, with the pickups we got in free agency I think taking the best player available (within reason) is a good strategy.
