It is tough to sit back and look at the season as a whole when you sit through bad losses and an ugly win.... but, Nick is a "process guy", and when we look back at the whole of this season the only shot we really have to go deep in the playoffs is to win the AFC east and IMHO the only way to do that is fix 3 glaring problems...QB, OL and DB. Culpepper is coming off a major injury obviously and and his foot work obviously sucks right now. The only way to get better at this point is to play if indeed he is not still hurt (which he must not be), Joey Harrington is not going to be a long term answer...so really no options other than DC getting better. At OL RG is still a huge problem and either Berger must play G with Hadnot at Center...or play Center with Hadnot back to guard, Anderson was horrible and Jacox is proving not much better. Those are the only real options. At DB Daniels must be on the field and IMHO Bell and/or Allen need to step in and play. There is reason for hope that the DBfield will get better.
The long and short of it is IMO that our problems cannot be fixed 'on the fly' and will need to be addressed this off season...as for now and the big picture...I personally do not care if we win 2-0 vs. Texans, as long as some improvement is made....in the big picture we need to get better as the season goes and win games NOW (Bills an oops!!)that we are supposed to win. Hopefully DC will continue to improve, as IMO he was a little better (not much but a small bit), Berger is getting healthy apparently, Daniels is 1 game back, and Allen and Bell will be a few more weeks seasoned when we hit the toughest part of the schedule. The first part of the season is tough but the key is to get wins we should and get better...at the end of the season who knows...long way off and we may (should) be playing much better...BUT there is no Montana or Ronnie Lott in their prime out there to sign.....gotta hope and wait...
