That NY Post article gave me the idea.

If going 4-12 meant securing the #1 pick and the right to take USC QB Matt Leinert, would you take it right now??

Leinert was unquestionably the #1 overall prospect this year. And barring major injury, he'll be the top guy again.

So would you cast the spell right here and now??

I would take Leinart! We would be good for years to come with him at QB

What kind of fan would want their team to lose just so they could have the #1 pick in the draft? I don't care who the player going number 1 is you should never hope the Dolphins lose.

Rome wasn't built in a day brother. Gotta think big picture.

So does that mean you WANT the Dolphins to go 4-12? Sometimes I think you are a Bills fan in Dolphins clothing.

Even if we go 4-14 again we have no guarantee that it will be the worst record or even have a chance at Leinert.

Even if we select Leinert there is no guarantee that he has the goods to play in the NFL.

IMO at no time should we wish for a bad record in order to move up a few spots in the draft to draft somebody. There are too many variables involved which could backfire.

I'd assume the only yes is you.

Theres many other QB prospects I would rather have that can give us the same type of long term success that a number 1 pick would give us. Our boy Danny wasn't a number 1, and he turned out alright. I'd rather have a competative team and still get a playmaker than have a bad season again to take the guy who MIGHT be better than someone avaliable later in the round.

But I think we could finish 500 or a little better, make a playoff push and still get a player in the draft next year that will continue to build this franchise. In fact, Iwould rather the Phins spend next years #1 on a DT or OL than a QB. That may change after this season, but as of right now a DT or OL would be my choice.

Nope.

Too many options at QB next year to wish a 4-12 season on yourself. Aside from the prospect of AJ or Gus working out... there are quite a few FA options. I also think it's too early to say that Lienart will be the only QB option available in the draft as well. I'd rather do well, and have to deal with getting someone other than Lienart.

Im sure Bengals fans have been "thinking the big picture" for many years

Why bother to watch the season while one is busy thinking of the big picture.

LOSE PHINS! THINK OF THE BIG PICTURE!

HELL NO! Like previously stated, one 4-12 season was simply enough for me and what kind of TRUE FAN wishes anything like that on their team? That is the most ignorant question i've heard concerning our upcoming season.
