I think since daunte left many peopel think O he was the problem. I really dont think so. When u have 5 guys at different postions and new to the team, it takes at least 5 games for them to get it together. Sure enough by teh fifth game the line started blocking alot better.

I hope we see Daunte behind the better o-line this season. I know he will out play Joey.

Nah, Shelton really was getting burned at LT and James was horrid at LG because he has been playing thru injury . . .also we haven't been able to keep a RG healthy.

The line got better when we put Dmac at LT and Shelton at RG . . . and I have NO CLUE why we didn't have Dmac at LT early on, he was consistent last year, and he looks to be doing a good job this year. Not all changes are good ones. And I knew early with Sheltons size and lack of pure quickness that he seemed to be a perfect guard, not a tackle, and he is proving that.

Well, we are using 4/5 starters from last year, so it's not like a bunch of new guys. And, our offseason LT acquisition is now playing RG. Somehow, we need to figure our the best OL in the PRESEASON, and not wait till week 5 or 6.

joey still got sacked a few times
Since Daunte has been benched the o-line has only given up 2 or 3 sacks and when Daunte was starting they gave 22 sacks. So you comparing a few sacks to 22 sacks is ridiculous. The line hasn't been much better when it comes to running the ball though.

I think Joey has thrown picks in a couple of situations where Daunte would have taken sacks.

Definitely, Joey has put this D in tuff spots every game because of his mistakes . . . but u can't ignore the fact that the offense is moving better with him in there. When Pep was in there, I mean his back drop was horrid, he didn't step into throws and he had less time than Joey has had. Somehow he did an "ok" job, managed the game well . . . but he was just obviously laboring . . . I really wanna see this guy at 100%, and I won't give up on him until I do.
