As strange as this may sound - I do agree with Coach Philbin in that they have the solutions in house - just not the ones we've seen.
The challenge I have with the current Guards, D. Thomas and J Douglas - yes they are very athletic, but I struggle to see them display that power/nasty attitude and ability to anchor from a sheer brute force standpoint - which is absolutely needed in this division. All too often yesterday we saw them walked back into the QB - and with Douglas on the right with James who is in a similar vein from my standpoint - it's a very athletic line but not a lot of nasty.
Yes Billy Turner has some technique deficiencies and Jacques McClendon may not be as athletic as the others - but I see a more powerful base with both of these players.
And with this league - and dare I say it, this team, being more about the Pass - you have to protect the middle of the pocket from collapsing or giving much if not any ground. Right now we're not able to do that and this will have a negative impact on Tannehill.
I am forever hopeful they can correct in time for Buffalo - but I am very very nervous to see what Dareus and K Williams may do against our interior 3, and yep, that includes Pouncey.
