Come draft day I think that after thinking it through, Russell and Quinn will both be gone by the 4th pick. Why?

Because teams wont take for granted having such a high pick again and wont let the opportunity to build their sorry teams around a potential franchise QB.

OAK will most "definitely" make Russell the #1 overall pick whether they trade Moss or not. I dont see them trading "both" Moss and Porter...so they can always find a complimentary WR later in this "deep WR" draft...so

I think OAK picks Russell #1 overall, then the best remaining OL with the first pick in the 2nd round, and then the best remaining WR with the first pick in the 3rd round. Also, if they trade Moss...then they will have yet "another" first day pick to pick maybe another OL. OAK is probably going to have a good draft I tell you that.

Because OAK's main problems were QB and OL.

Then, I cant see DET, CLE, "AND" TB passing on a QB. Remember, WR is deep this year. They have high picks in every round. So any of those teams grab Quinn in the 1st round and then have a good WR to draft in the 2nd round.

So, people need to stop fantasizing about Quinn at #9...he probably goes to TB at #3 or #4.

It's not fantasizing, last year Leinart was selected #10, Brady Quinn could fall to us, you never know...

Just as much as you speculate who will go where, so shall everyone who..."gasp"...wants a franchise QB.
 
Everyones opinion is simply that....opinion.

Calvin Johnson could break a leg and fall to the second round. Brady Quinn could quit football to become an actor. Adrian Peterson can become Ricky's student and fail multiple drug tests.

No-one can really have any clue what will or wont happen on draft day yet. Were simply to far away to even speculate or tell other people to quit their pipe dreams.

As those teams are in position to take a potential franchise QB, we are in perfect position to move up for one of those potential franchise QBs.

At 9, we will not have to "give up the farm" as some would say, to move up 5 spots to 4 if infact Quinn falls that far.

We trade Harrington and Booker(i like him but not for his contract) clearing about 4 mill with change in cap space. I really believe Harrington can garner a 4th from a team in devastating need of a back-up QB and we can all agree Harrington is a solid back-up QB. Booker can fetch a 3rd.

According to this trade chart http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/6330687 the difference between 9 and 4 is 450 points which means we could easily move up to get our future franchise QB with a simple 2 this year.

But, we all know that the value chart isn't an exact science, so let's say it's going to take more than 450 points of value to move up to 4.

Our 2(490) plus the lowest 3(116) and 4(44) in the chart, accounting for the picks aquired for Harrington and Booker, equal 650 points. I'd send these over to Tampa, exchange our first and demand their 5 in return.

If Mueller believes Quinn to be the QB some are making him out to be(most inteligent QB to hit the draft since Peyton) I say grow a pair and go up and get him. IMO, a 2, Harrington, and Booker is not such a steep price to pay for the most important position in football, you know, the one that has been ailing us for 8 freagin years.

We'd be left with:
1(4) - Brady Quinn, QB, 6'4, 227, 4.8, Notre Dame
3(41) - Arron Sears, OT, 6'4, 320, 5.3, Tennessee
4(73) - Rori Johnson, OLB, 6'1, 235, 4.5, Ole Miss
5(100) - Kareem Brown, DT, 6'5, 315, 5.10, the U
6(137) - Kyle Young, C, 6'5, 330, 5.4, Fresno St
7(169) - Jarret Hicks, WR, 6'3, 212, 4.65, Texa Tech

Not a bad draft IMO.
