Winning is a Habit
update: You can watch the whole Incognito/Glazer interview here: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/...-transcript-111013?cmpid=tsmtw:fscom:NFLonFOX
This whole Martin and Incognito saga really serves no one well. This is something that could have been handled internally and been avoided. Responsibility has to put on both men for getting the Dolphins franchise to this point. The biggest thing that came out of the FOX interview with Glazer and Incognito were the texts. They there were supposedly 1,142 of them and they will help to add context to Martin and Incognito's relationship. It won't be the end all on this who saga, but it is another piece evidence. These are the excerpts from that interview that stick out most to me:
Incognito came off very sincere in his interview and said many of the right things. Just keep in mind he obviously had some coaching when it came to answering these questions and Glazer didn't ask him any real hard questions, but still it gives us an insight into how shocked Richie really is. I cannot condone the use of the N-word by Incognito, but I can understand how men talk to one another when they are with friends. So who are we to judge what is vulgar and what is not when it stays within that circle. The fact is if Martin was really offended by it's use, he should have stepped up and made it known. That is how these kind of situations need to be handled. Step up and speak up for yourself. That would have gone a long way in this whole saga if Martin had done this much much earlier.
I fear this whole mess is a long ways from over and this saga will go on to change the NFL locker room and its culture and whether that is a good thing or bad thing is yet to be seen. Bottom line for me is both Incognito and Martin share the responsibility of what has transpired. It is all so totally unnecessary and this is one of the cases where I think the NFL media and football fans wish could have been addressed internally. For now, we must wait for more facts to come out and let the NFL investigation be completed before we go and publicly scorn either side. If one good thing can come for this as Dolphins fans, it would be that GM Jeff Ireland has a role in the culture that built in the Dolphins organization and I hope he pays for that culture with his job.

"I didn't know it was hurting him. i can't sit here and tell you who overreacted I can just be accountable for my actions"
"This isn't an issue about bullying. This is an issue of mine and Jon's relationship where I've taken stuff too far"
"That voice mail was left on a private voice mail for my friend that was a joke."
"As the leader, as his best friend on the team, that's what has me miffed, how I missed this. I never saw it coming."
"Right now I'd give him a hug, say why didn't you come to me? How did it get to this?"
