Does anyone know the specifics of Chambers contract? I'm not one of these people claiming we should drop or trade Chambers. I think he makes a very good #2 receiver but I've heard he's getting #1 money. I know he signed a 5 year $30 million contract prior to last season with $12 million in signing and roster bonuses. My question is does anyone know the actual breakdown of the $30 million. How does he cost us moving forward. Is it a back loaded deal? Or have we laready paid the majority of the money so that now he only costs us about the same as a #2?

Yea and I would also like to know what Owens, Moss, Harrison, Ward, and Johnson are making too.

i think chambers is the around the 5th highest paid receiver in the league. I think he got paid more than owens did.

I've read that article. The problem is how much money he makes in total isn't as important as how much he still has left on his deal and how it's structured. The past is the past, the key is how does that contract look moving forward?

thats sad

its mostly cause we gave him the deal last year and he looked like he was progressing to be a huge star....

Too bad you can't put fines in a receiver's contract for dropped passes. :mad:

This is contract specifics or estimates when they signed there extentions.

Chambers 5 years 30 mil, 12 is bonus = 6 mil/yr
Ward 4 years, 24.53 mil, 10 is bonus = 6.1 mil/yr
Harrison 7 years, 66 million, 22 in bonus = 9.5 mil/yr
Moss 8 years, 75 million, bonus not found, = 9.4 mil/yr
Owens 7 years, 49 million = 7 mil/yr and he is complaining about wanting more
Johnson 5 yrs, 25 mil = 5 mil/yr
Coles = 7 years, 35 mil, 13 in bonus = 5 mil/yr

Chambers is getting as much as hines ward and johnsons contract is 3 years old and likely will be renewed for much more soon. Any other people any one is curious about on salary. Ward was the latest contract signed and Coles was the earliest of the extentions.

A guy who has been our leading reciever, top TD scorer andhe just scored 2 Td's in a near win against NE. Yes he dropped a LOW pass. Also he plays with underachiever QB's Frerrotte doesnt make the plays he should misses ez passes. Fielder speaks for himself AJ cant read a defense any better then a lineman. About Frerotte throwing for 360 yrds against a weakened secondary that was great and all but we still need a Qb that will actaully put the ball where it needs to be put.

Surprising how people were really glad Chambers got the extension and they don't like it now. Chambers isn't a bad WR, he's just having an off year. But if a team asks to trade a #1 pick for Chambers and our 1st round, I'd do it.

What do you want Gus to do? Run down the field and hand it off to him?

Contracts aren't divided by money and years. Chris received his bonus, and his salary was 4.5 million this year, and was guarenteed for a salary cap reasons. I don't think he received all his money upfront, but in all aspects, it's a big deal, but not a huge deal for next season with the cap going up as years progress. I am on the Charles Rogers bandwagon. Guy has never had a chance to prove himself, has Nick Saban roots, was the #2 overall pick 3 years ago, and has so much potential. His salary is way too much for the Lions next year because of his production, and they fact that Roy Williams and Mike Williams have top 10 draft pick contracts too, and them still needing a QB and some help on D. Charles, come on down. He'll be cheaper then Reggie Wayne, and Reggie will find a way to stay in Indy.
