What about Dixon?

I though Dixon would return for the Denver game, but now I'm hearing he'll be back after the bye? Is this just precautionary? I feel OK with Spriggs in there, but I feel waaaaaaaayyyyy better with Dixon.

I would feel far better about the running game with Dixon in. Plus Trevor Pryce is one bad @ss dude. But I think he plays on Todd Wade's side.

Broncos | Smith Injured - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
19:50 PT: The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos WR Rod Smith (shoulder) has a separated left shoulder. He is not expected to miss any playing time. Denver coach Mike Shanahan said Smith suffered a first-degree separation, the mildest type, and should be ready to go against Miami next weekend.

Broncos | More On Anderson - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
20:19 PT: The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said FB Mike Anderson (ankle) could have played on Sunday, but he didn't want to risk another setback. "I was hoping we didn't have to use him. Of course we didn't, and he should be fine and ready to go this week."

here is Wanne's comments

(On the team’s injured players) – “The only injury was David Bowens. He had the MRI. It’s a sprain. We’re just going to take it day to day. He’s limping right now. He’s sore right now. We’ll see where it goes. Mark Dixon is a lot better. We’re hopeful there. Twan Russell is expected to start practicing Wednesday. Hopefully we’ll get something going there. Patrick didn’t even come in for treatment today and Ricky wasn’t in this morning for treatment. Jason Taylor was fine. He wasn’t in early today. We got out of it pretty healthy which is pretty encouraging for this point in the season.â€Â

If you really take a look at our defense this year its quite puzzling. Our pass defense, ranked #1 in the league last year, has taken a dive to the bottom of the league. Our run defense, once at the bottom of the league last year, has risen to be the #4 run defense in the league.

I guess you can partly excuse it by saying that we've played 12 of our 20 quarters without either Sam Madison or Patrick Surtain, but still man....still...

Oh well. Winning games. :)

I think a big part of it came from last year teams knew that they could run on us at will, so why risk passing to our CB's when you can run all day. Now that teams are getting stopped at the line, many of them are abandoning the run and trying to sling it against our D (that and their having to play catch-up against our new and improved offense)
But your right... being without Sam or Pat for all that time really hurts as well.

INJURY UPDATE

DE David Bowens is day-to-day with a sprain of the posterior collateral ligament in his left knee. Wannstedt said he was not sure if Bowens -- who he said had four tackles and one sack in eight plays -- could practice Wednesday, nor was he certain about LT Mark Dixon (ankle), who was replaced as a starter by Marcus Spriggs on Sunday.

LB Twan Russell (knee) will return to practice and should play Sunday at Denver.
