Injury Updates For Frerotte, Vickerson And Turk

Is Vickerson Wolverine or something recovering so fast? :D
 
Rookie defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson, who was put on injured reserve with a strained right ACL, is off crutches and expects to begin running in the next week.

this is one thing i dont really understand about saban, he seems to pull the trigger really early with putting players on IR. Vickerson just had a strain and will be running next week, Turk only had a groin pull which in 98 out of 100 cases wont keep him out all year. Thompson had a Hamstring which unless its torn wont keep him out the whole year. i dont know if he isnt give all the info or what but he seems to love putting people on IR

i feel the same way, but their is a method to the madness i always say. Until it bites us in the *** im cool with it

Belichick does the same thing... They are using IR as a roster move as much as it is anything else. Vickerson probabaly wouldnt have been active much this season and cant really contribute on special teams, so they shelved him.

I think the other two have to do with injury settlements. I was under the impression it hurts the salary cap less if you put a player on IR and give them injury settlements instead of just cutting them.
 
nobody has mentioned that this article says Turk is gone!!! I thought he just had an agravated groin, that this was a day to day thing, now we hear is out the door. Wow I hope we dont regret that move.

He was put on IR the other day.
