Input from my friend who played with John Nalbone at Monmouth

For some reason I forgot to realize that my really good friend from high school plays at Monmouth and with Nalbone.. and he just messaged me because he knows how big of a miami fan I am, and how excited he is about the pick. Here's how the short convo went:

him- "Your boys drafted someone from my team"

me- "O **** thats right.. john nalbone.. he any good?"

him- "yeah man hes nasty.. 6'5 250.. ran a 4.55 at the combine"

me- "can he block? catch? I really never heard of him before this draft"

him- "Oh for sure he can do it all.. but our school is small so thats prob why you havnt heard of him, but your head coach was at our practice so he knows how good he is"

me- "well thats good i hope he makes the team, we already got 3 te's our FO is really high on"

him- "haha well my money's on john, Bill Parcells knows whats up and he wouldnt waste a 5th round pick on a guy from a small school if he didnt know how good he was"

me- "haha yeah well someones gonna need to be cut.. is he a cool dude?"

him- "yeah great dude, very humble, hard worker.. good pick up for your boys"

me- "yeah i guess time will tell im hoping your right"

him- "for sure man"


I know its not much, but its something on a player we really know so little about...

...is the reason why so many here have attacked the pick. Fact is, Sparano was THERE at the practice and not one single member from FinHeaven was. I know I wasn't.

For that matter, where in the **** is something called Monmouth?

You have to be kidding me. Martin was one of our most productive players last year. If anyone is gone it is Haynos. This isn't even close. Martin and Fasano aren't going anywhere, they are both very productive.

Clearly Martin was more productive, however Haynos is a guy from the current regime. Martin is leftover from Cam and Mueller. Martin is also in his last year and will want significantly more money than Haynos. You do the math..

yeah but you have haynos who is a much blocking te than martin if we could probably get a mid round for him that would be great, remember if you could something for someone you pull the trigger u do not want to get rid of haynos and not get nothing for him
 
i agree in support of martin.. he did have a sick season last year, but i mean if we can get a dec pick for him i wouldnt be heartbroken

no offense, but asking a teammate and friend of Nalbone's to describe him and predict how he'll do is kind of biased. Might as well ask his parents if it was a good pick. Unless he's a complete tool, his teammates will always defend him.

no your right.. hes obviously somewhat biased.. but he also knows more than we do right now... just sharing..
