Dolphins general manager Randy Mueller hasn't wasted much time reshaping Miami's roster.
The biggest move came with the signing of former Steelers outside linebacker Joey Porter on March 6, and the Dolphins have a fearsome duo with him and Jason Taylor.
Defensive tackle Vonnie Holliday was the only one of Miami's 15 unrestricted free agents to re-up with the team before the start of Friday's signing period. The Dolphins also parted ways with veteran players by releasing defensive end Kevin Carter and guards Jeno James, Seth McKinney and Bennie Anderson, with quarterback Joey Harrington finally let go when Miami could not find a trade partner.
The Dolphins were unable to reach agreement on a restructured contract with Carter, a 13-year veteran who started all 32 games for Miami the past two seasons. Matt Roth, a 2005 second-round draft pick, is expected to take Carter's spot in the starting lineup.

This is very interesting.

â€â€New Dolphins coach Cam Cameron will get a first-hand look at his roster before the draft. Cameron has scheduled a mini-camp for April 13 to 15 at the team's South Florida headquarters. Such a gathering should help Dolphins management gain a better assessment of talent on the roster heading into the NFL draft on April 28 and 29.

Other than being short on quantity right now, I really like what we're doing. I am concerned about depth, but I trust Mueller. One thing is for certain, draft picks look like they actually matter to the man in charge, for once, and we are getting younger. That's definitely the right formula IMO.

I bet you know one comes to camp out of shape, for the fear of demotion or being cut.
That's for sure  Even though I know I must be wrong, it's still tough to believe no trade was available for McMichael. But, for nothing else a very clear message was delivered.
