Dolphins general manager Randy Mueller hasn't wasted much time reshaping Miami's roster.
The biggest move came with the signing of former Steelers outside linebacker Joey Porter on March 6, and the Dolphins have a fearsome duo with him and Jason Taylor.
Defensive tackle Vonnie Holliday was the only one of Miami's 15 unrestricted free agents to re-up with the team before the start of Friday's signing period. The Dolphins also parted ways with veteran players by releasing defensive end Kevin Carter and guards Jeno James, Seth McKinney and Bennie Anderson, with quarterback Joey Harrington finally let go when Miami could not find a trade partner.
The Dolphins were unable to reach agreement on a restructured contract with Carter, a 13-year veteran who started all 32 games for Miami the past two seasons. Matt Roth, a 2005 second-round draft pick, is expected to take Carter's spot in the starting lineup.
