I thought it was funny when Chris Collinsworth was saying that "Why should QB's be charged with a intercepection if it is thrown right to the reciever, right in his hands and he drops it". Chris said there should be a official on the field to chart the throws and when a reciever gives up a intercepection by not catching a catchable ball then he should be charged with the intercepection. Then Dan Marino said "If that was the case then I would of never had a Intercepection" Just thought it was funny.

I actually agreed with pencil neck on that one. It shouldn't be counted as an int for the QB if they hit the receiver perfectly and it gets intercepted anyways.

BTW, what happened to that show? It used to be the best now it bl0ws.

They used to always have the best angles and highlights, now they don't even show half of the games and they waste WAY TOO MUCH time with garbage like that cr@p with Mcnabbs mother....

The Dolphins KC game wasn't shown & that was a great game... :fire:

:dolphins:

He's right. If the ball hits the WR, and is then intercepted, the QB should not be faulted. Harrington has about 3-4 of those this year.....

As for "Inside The NFL", it use to be a great show about a decade ago. I don't really watch it anymore now that I have NFL network. It keeps me informed on a daily basis, and not only do they show highlights, they show entire football games....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

I've noticed most football shows are geared towards the casual football fans as opposed to the diehards. I really enjoy in depth analysis and breaking down plays, but we see less and less of that. I enjoy when Jaws does it but I think I've caught that like twice this year and IMHO the NFL networks best show was playbook which is no longer on.

NFL replay is great when your team or a rival is on, otherwise I could care less. I'd rather see a show where an analyst breaks down the key plays to the game. Stuff like blocking schemes, who beat who, matchups, how coverages were diguised, how blitzes were setup and blitz pickups. That stuff interests me more and there is very little of it.

If you take away ints when the recievers drop the ball then you have to add ints when recievers make plays on the ball. ex. Chambers TD catch against the bears should have been an int.

I don't think so. All the really great receivers go after the ball like it belongs to them, and they defend the pass as well. There are lots of plays and teams that purposely throw it high and let their receivers make 'a play on the ball'.
Manning and Burress with the Giants do that a lot...

Remember when Gadsen was here? It seemed like our entire passing red zone scoring philosophy was based on throwing it up and letting him get it. :shakeno:

I think Dan does a good job on both Inside the NFL and the CBS pregame but I miss Buonoconti and Dawson. Cris Carter is a complete embarrassment and has no business being on TV, Collinsworth is ok, Costs is good but I still miss the old show.

The ball in the chicago game was a poorly thrown ball. If you want to let you reciever make a play on the ball you throw it away from the defender which was in front of him not behind him. Either way it doesnt matter. All I'm saying is that if you gonna blame the WR for dropped balls that turn into ints then you have to do the same thing to joey for his horrible passes that the recievers bail him out on. Thats why it is stupid to say it is the recievers fault or it is joeys fault because it all evens up in the end.

so what if a corner drops a clear pick? should you give it to the QB anyway?

it really for the most part balances out... a QB will get some INTs they dont deserve, and they wont get some they do deserve...

on a similar note what would you guys say if a network were to put rob knorad or oj mcduffy on with dan marino or put the marks brothers on as a team ?

I gotta say, I used to love it when Jimmy Johnson was on that show, it's one of the reasons I was so excited when he took over for Shula, although he had some mixed results as our coach/gm. However, Jason Taylor? Zach Thomas? Those were his picks, and they weren't obvious to anyone at the time even though he passed on Randy Moss, never addressed the QB position (Dan was here at the time so he was about winning now) and drafted Yatil Green and John Avery (Bust and Bust). Anywho, agree with you that the show used to rock about 10 years ago...

I dunno, an int is an int, etc. I mean, some of those passes that hit the receviers on the hands, I can think of at least two that did that and were intercepted, but the receiver was very close to him and Joey may have thrown it way too hard for the distance they were at, no touch at all, so, if you're standing 5 yards away from an NFL QB and he throws it as hard as he can at you, high as well, but it hits you in the hands, who's fault is it if you don't catch it? Who's fault is it if the QB overthrows the receiver who's wide open? What's the difference? Some of those picks were for sure the receivers fault, but some that supposedly hit them in the hands were Joey's fault in my opinion because he got to anxious or whatever it was, a couple of others might have been the receiver's fault...

You're exactly right.
