I posted this a few weeks back and didnt get much feed back, I was just wondering if we can anything from these numbers or not?

I basically just got all the current players average numbers per game from last season and tried to estimate our potential team numbers per game this coming season.

Granted i know its not 100% accurate because only so many of each position can be on the field at a time and some would take balls away from others.

It is hard to see. But interesting analysis. But you should explain how u figured the projected totals.

The attachments open us fine on my computer. When you open the offensive one, you may have to expand it to full size so its not all condensed and such.

All i did was seperated the players we have returning and new free agents, and just figured up there per game averages from last season. But I only included the games they particapited in. So if they didnt dress or were injured i didnt factor those games into there per game average. Then i just added everyone's up and figured out how many points we would average if each player had the same numbers as last season.

Got it?

It seems well organized, and interesting as a tool to analyze last year, but I honestly don't think there's a lot to take from it in regard to the future.

It's extremely difficult to project any of the new additions' future production based on their stats with another team, as it's a whole different situation. Even with the returning guys, averages and stats often don't carry over to the next season, especially in as an unusual season as we had last year.

Lot of time spent doing all of the # crunching. Curious to see how accurate it is...be sure to bring it up at the end of the season to see how close you are. Thanks for sharing.

Given your assumptions, that is a solid analysis. The problem is that the effect of the offensive line must be integrated into your analysis. For instance, Jake Long and a competitive OG likely result in a solid starting line. In that case, you average is too low. If we end up with a hole at right tackle, then your numbers are too high.

I agree it didnt factor in the line production or the affect of the players we select in the draft, but i just thought it was interesting to see where we could possibly be at this very moment in time.

all i know is that we need to build OL and DL it lets the young talent around it thrive their skills better! Jon Beck sucks cuz of the OL. i believe in second chance.. I m sure Jon Beck nkows what he needs to work on and realize the true pressure. a little help on OL would be nice.
