Insider Allbright has Miami taking Smith #3

I think people pick and choose what to glean from analytics. IMO the lesson is not that you can't take WRs in the top 10, but rather that the important WR traits are the ability to separate and catch the ball rather size/speed measurements that are too often prioritized in the top 10.
The lesson isn’t that you can’t take a WR in the top 10, the lesson is that you shouldn’t take a WR in the top 10. It’s not how championship teams have been built the past 10 years or so.

Championship teams are built in many ways. It would be ridiculous to claim that teams should draft QBs in the 6th round b/c a bunch of championships were one by a 6th round QB, but people who look at stats on draft history could craft that argument. Reality is that what matters is getting good football players and since this is a passing league, it particularly matters to get good football players that impact the passing game (offense and defense). Kiper literally just put 3 relatively smaller WRs in the top 10 of his latest mock. He stated that the game and the rules have changed and that those claiming you can't take WRs in that range are out of touch.

So if you trade back to 6th and figure at least two of the top picks will be qbs, Miami would still see Smith, Chase, Parsons or Sewell on the board when it's their turn to pick. It would be hard not to take whoever is left of that foursome and get some decent picks or players in the trade too.
like it...but who's trading up when the front office says theyre comitted to Tua??
