Interesting questions posed here. What do you guys think. Is it a problem or is too much being made here.

I really can't take what Cole says very seriously, and we have heard about up tempo offense so many times yet we hardly ever see it.

Can the offense be disciplined enough to run uptempo without a bunch of mistakes and penalties that's more of a concern to me to be honest than 3 of the better defense players on the team. I would be more considered about CB and even LB situation before those 3.

Would be nice to actually see what the uptempo offense can do first. Thanks for the premature concern though, Jason's "sources"

What a pile of **** from Cole. I don't know if the look on his face is embarrassment from filing something so stupid, smugness at poking the Dolphins in the ribs or just pork rind grease.

The Dolphins have some problems on the defense, especially with depth. But uptempo ain't some special time when it's gonna show up. It's gonna show up at regular tempo. At slow tempo. At every tempo. And to call Suh "aging" (he's 29) and a problem against uptempo teams when he's maybe the best conditioned interior defensive lineman in football is just an amazing display of stupidity.

How is this half baked crap worth putting out? No real "news" in that report. Just a stupid question flung out as news. What team D would not have trouble with an O that does 3 & outs in rapid succession? If this is all that it takes to be a sports reporter, we can all be one... In our spare time!

I'm pretty sure that no team is really built for "uptempo"...

The point of uptempo is to keep teams from aligning and rotating...and as far a depth, not team has the depth at the NFL level to compete against "uptempo"...

I'll agree. I suspect we've all watched games where a team went uptempo, only to hear a color guy state the obvious . . . "3 and out that fast doesn't give the D time to rest."
It doesn't take a great football mind to figure that out. That's why teams come out uptempo on some series but not others.

Strange that he mentioned Suh, given that Suh is in his prime and that Miami signed a high-quality backup in Chris Jones. Wake should be relegated to pass-rush specialist, and Williams should be fresh after taking most 2015 off. Anyway, regardless of his opinion, this was a poor effort by Cole.

Cole make this report while sitting on the can again?

He's got a custom piece..

I question the validity of Cole's report that a concern is being expressed within the building, but I do think the issue is worth exploring. Coaches always talk about the importance of all three phases of the team being compliments to each other.

We've seen this before. If the offense is plagued by continual 3 and outs, the special teams and defense are put under constant pressure. If the defense can't get off the field on 3rd down, the offense doesn't have as many possessions to figure things out. Special teams gaffes can put both offense and defense in bad positions.

I'm confident that Gase will have his overriding strategy worked out with his coordinators. He wouldn't have picked Joseph as his DC if they didn't already share some philosophies on how the offense and defense would compliment each other.

At first i thought the wrong video had come on. All of a sudden this figure is sitting there and i'm seeing Pizza The Hut!!! A Spaceballs video? What happened to the jason cole/dolphins thing?

Then, i do it all over and i double check but once again, there sits Pizza The Hut!!!! Then i suddenly realize, i dont think i have ever seen jason cole. When i finally realize its jc i'm looking at, i had to wince. Bad enough being a fading sports hack but do be Pizza The Hut's dopple ganger? I almost feel to sorry for him to trash his video.

But trash i will, because........., its pure TRASH!!!!

What basis is there for this? Suh already has a season under his belt in the florida heat. So have most of the other guys. Wake has NEVER had a problem with the heat. He plays lights out on every play. We are going to have this partial covered stadium now that is going to stifle a good portion of that game day sun. So much so that our one time heat advantage is now history.

We play against up tempo offenses every year. Win some, lose some. And most of those losses are due to bad cb play. When you have 99.999% of your cb's barely hitting the mediocre talent scale then have them play 10 yds off the line to start each play, well, frankenstein's monster didnt suffer that many torches!!! Its inevitable.

I think having a press scheme (finally!!) and more physical cb's are going to win us more games against these hi octane offenses. This piece cole laid out is just unwarrented speculation. I do think its going to be a crazy, up down season as we have both units learning new schemes. It's going to be quite a ride!!!

MAY THE SCHWARTZ BE WITH US.

We need to attack teams on D and that's what it looks like we will do. Get them into 2nd and 3rd and long and the tempo will slow down.
