Inspirational story about Mikey Marino

Inspirational to me, and i hold this close to my heart, as i have a 5 year old son whom is autistic. And i agree, early intervention is the key.

thanks, Amanda. Worth the read indeed.

Woah! A DL fan? Here? Something does not compute

In regards to the article, it's great hearing that Mikey is doing well. You don't see families stick together and care for each other like that much anymore.

Welcome to the site and thanks for the great link, was a great read, plus anything that has to do with my favorite ALL-TIME DOLPHIN #13 i'am there, want to know and read about. One of the reasons Dan's my favorite Fin has always been a GREAT player/person on and off the field AKA Dan the Man

I went to high school and played on the football team with Mike for a couple of years (I graduated in '05) and if I hadn't been told that he was autistic, I never would have guessed. He's a nice kid. It's good to see that he's doing well.

the charity ping-pong bash staged by Jason Taylor at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

A ping-pong bash?

Man I've played ping-pong and I know anything can become pretty competitive between two people who dont want to lose but I just cant get into ping -pong like that.

That was a very nice article, glad to hear he was found out early and helped.

Think of all the kids the Dan Marino facility has helped.

A foundation bearing his father’s name was created in 1992, and within six short years, a free-standing center was opened just off I-75 in Weston to diagnose and treat developmental illnesses. More than 48,000 children came through the doors in 2006.

"My parents and my friends remind me all the time that I was the inspiration for that building," says Mikey. "They tell me that without it, kids would have nowhere to go."

Something that I read did bother me though.

Same guy who was passed over in the 1983 college draft by 21 NFL general managers, at least some of whom believed he had "character" issues.

So that means Marino was selected 22nd in the 1983 draft?

Hopefully that wont become an omen of things to come from this years draft.

I would be upset if Quinn goes on to have a HOF career.

thanks very much for the read it was very good and its great to know that he is doing as well as he is. does anyone know if any of dan's 2 other sons will be a quarterback? thanks so much again amanda!
