chances that Turner pans out? somewhere between 1 and 100 I guess

chances that a team lets a stud WR walk via FA? 0, zilch, nada
 
antonio bryant is the only #1 - as of right now - that we have a realistic shot at getting. no fugging way dallas lets austin walk.

interesting stats there man. pretty bizarre.
 
Not sure where you're going with this whole thing but Miles Austin would be very nice should Dallas be foolish enough to let him walk. He would open up a lot for G-Cam, Hartline and Bess. Antonio Bryant I don't think we would sniff because of his previous unsavory dealings with Parcells.
 
He's saying that we shouldn't write off Turner yet just because he hasn't seen the field. Austin's stats of his two seasons look like he'd be someone who will never have a job in the NFL. Look what he's doing now.
 
Yeah cause it's that easy. Lets just get Miles Austin. Just send him a plane ticket in the mail, one way, Dallas to Miami, he's ours!
 
It's entirely possible the lightbulb still goes on for Turner like it did for Austin. The thing is, the coaching staff has an idea of how likely this is - and since some of the coaches/FO are the same as Dallas, they have a reference point for Turner. I remember that despite Austin's slow start, they did like the guy, which is why they tried to bring him with them when they first came to Miami. We can only hope Turner will follow a similar path.

I also think not much is going to happen at WR, given the rules of the uncapped year. They will not pay Bryant what he will command as the only decent WR on the free agent market. The only way I see a legit #1 joining our squad this offseason is via trade involving Ronnie Brown...and that would cause many finfans to cut off their sacks.
 
I know it wasn't your point and that getting Austin would be difficult, but I believe Austin was an Undrafted FA. Imagine a 3 WR set with Austin, Camarillo and Bess. (Ok, Hartline should be in there, but he won't play every down).

I am pretty sure no one in this thread actually seriously suggested that we had a chance at getting Austin the title notwithstanding.

Sure, but did the Cowboys sit back and say, well I hope Miles Austin turns into a solid #1??
No, they had a #1 named T.O. and they went out and got another one named Roy Williams.

We can sit back and hope that Turner is our guy, or we can draft, trade and use free agency to find more guys. Then if turner turns out good, we have extra good WR's.
