There's one thing that makes me think Cincinnati's gonna win this game tonight -- it's the first nationally televised game in Cincinnati since 1997. These guys are gonna be UP for this game. Imagine for a second that you're a Bengals fan -- wouldn't you expect to win tonight?

Or maybe they go out and try to do to much since it is a nationally televised primetime game and make mistakes that we capitalize on.

you can get too "Jacked up" and it throws you off your game.

I agree. Playing at home at night in prime time really gets a team and a city going. And when it hasn't happened in eight years, it adds that much more electricity. Combine that with the state of our offense and the amount of new players lining up (new QB)......plus the injuries on defense......and it gives you plenty of reasons to worry.

To be honest, I'm not expecting a win here. But I'm hoping we pull one of those great, unexpected, "Dallas-esque" performances out of our hats. It's possible, as the Bengal defense is certainly not dominant. And regardless of who's missing, we're still left with a pretty darn good defense.

Yeah but you only get nationally televised games when you're a "good" team. You think Cincinnati and its fans want to disappoint on the first occasion in which they've been recognized as a "good" team since 1997?

I guess my point is that we've been there before.. with veteren guys... after a few hits... they'll settle down. Im sure our boys are very well aware of the ramifications of a loss sunday.
IMO i think people will be watching US more than the Bengals tonight. We're the soap opera of the NFL right now. As for the NFL take on the Bengals sunday night appearance.. its more... "gee... would you look at that!.. the Bengals are the late game....well well...hmmm"

So it would compare, somewhat, to making the playoffs for the first time, lots of EXTRA attention and PRESSURE ! ! ! This does NOT all neccesarily work to Cincy's advantage...

I highly doubt that this game was placed on national TV based on Cincy's probability. We got to remember when this TV scheduled was anounced was early in the Spring, we had aquired AJ, Boston and RW was still in our mists.

The schedule was based around THE MIAMI DOLPHINS not the Bengals, so whose to say that our players don't like to play in the spotlight. We have proven talent on defense and our offense has the talent to be special...

This is true -- Brett Favre threw 3 INTs in his first Super Bowl because he was TOO up. If we can catch them in some mistakes like that early, we may have a shot to blow them out. I just feel like Cincy will be trying to show that they're an up-and-coming team by beating teams that have been good in the recent past on national TV.

Narrowing it down to ONE thing would be a real challenge- how about TEN things?
