"It would be delightful for (owner) Wayne (Huizenga) to turn the tables on Alabama and Nick Saban by hiring Mike Shula. Delightful," said former Dolphins guard Bob Kuechenberg. "Mike Shula has integrity and we haven't had that since the elder Shula was there. What Nick Saban did is immoral. Obviously the integrity wasn't there. I know Mike quite well. You get two Shulas for one. Mike Shula is a fine, fine man."

Not saying Cam doesn't have integrity, but I think we know we gotta a guy in Little Shula who knows what it means to be a dolphin. Jimmy, Dave, and the man who's name shall not be spoken were just clowns. We need a coach who appreciates the honor of following in the footsteps of Don Shula and the proud Dolphin tradition. I mean we had a father/son combo in the White House, its gotta be at least a little less dangerous to put Mike on the sidelines at Joe Robbie/Pro Player/Dolphin Stadium/Wayne Dome. Right?

I wouldn't mind adding Mike Shula as an assistant, but I just don't think he'd be a top choice as head coach. I'm sure he's a very good guy, but integrity by itself will only get you so far.

From what I have seen, Bates and probably even Wannstedt had integrity. That shouldn't be overlooked. I don't think the purpose of the comments were to take a swipe at them, though.

this is bob kuechenburg the same guy who said we had no soul this year. How does he keep getting his name in the damn papers?

From what I have heard, no matter who is hired, the 'Phins are going to hire Mike Shula as part of the staff. (I think I read it in the article).

I don't really see how that turns the tables on Bama though. Turning the tables would mean stealing some of their assistants or something, not hiring the coach they fired(although I've got no problem hiring him as a position coach).

I wouldn't be at all surpised to see Mike Shula as OC with either Chan or Cam HC.

yes, im aware of his past with the dolphins and that he was a great player, my dad loves the guy, i was just wondering why his name keeps poping up all over the place... i probably could have worded it a little better:lol:

No problem. I just didn't want you going around wondering who this Kooch thought he was.

Well, I think he's pretty much just the guy out of that group who feels most comfortable about making big public statements. The media cover them, and he enjoys it.

You're far too young to remember Kooch as a player. What he said about last year's team when he said it was right on!! And...when you performed at the high level he did for as long as he did, playing with injuries that would have sidelined 99% of players, you have earned the right to say any damn thing you please about the state of the current Dolphins' team.

i understand, i know how good a player he was, you dont see guys like Dick Anderson or Many Fernandez making so many comments, i was just wondering why he felt the need to frequently comment publicly on the state of the dolphins, as J. Taylor said, "Kooch needs a hug, and a Hobbie", i didnt mean to offend the old-timers around here. jk bro. No disrepect intended towards mr. kooch.

I dont like hearing Kooch use the word "delightful." :(

From the North here in Navarre, Florida..... i.e. lower Alabama...

I would love nothing better for Miami to hire Mike Shula as either head coach or offensive coordinator for little no money and let Alabama's Mal Moore and the Alumni Association continue to pay his salary for the next 3 years to the tune of $65,000 a month. While also playing that blow hard they just hired 32 million to lose to Auburn, LSU and Florida for the next two years.

I would make the sports story of the year....
