Hey everyone, the Fins just picked on an interactive draft with Len P. and John Clayton.

Moderator: The Dolphins are up and we have a question from Alex in Miami, Fla. ... Gentlemen, When Nick Saban arrived in Miami he emphasized the importance of building through the draft and the value of young players. However, while he added a second-rounder last year for Pat Surtain he also has given up a 2nd and 6th this year for players. Do you think he will make a move down in the first round to try and add some picks?
Len Pasquarelli, ESPN.com senior NFL writer: Always a possibility, Alex, since Nick really is a firm believer in the draft. But I think he's identified 2-3 candidates he believes will be available at his spot in the first round, and will likley stay put and take one of them. Nick knows, by the way, he's got to start bringing in some fresh blood on defense. It's still a good unit, but most of the star-caliber players are getting older.
16. Dolphins

Manny Lawson, DE/LB, NC State
Len Pasquarelli, ESPN.com senior NFL writer: Might go for one of the wide receivers, Holmes or Jackson, if one or either is still on the board. But Nick Saban knows he needs to get younger on defense and Lawson gives him a guy who can rush opposite Jason Taylor and, in time, replace him.

They have us picking Manny Lawson. I would like that since LaVar isn't coming.

thats pretty nice info... Lawson might be a good add but i think our defense will be better off if we go with a safety. and in need of a reciever we can just pick up AZ from free agency..

Lawson, Carpenter, Jackson or Allen. those are my guys at #16

Lawson, Greenway, JWilliams, or Allen are my guys...

Lawson is my #1 (toss up with Holmes) option behind Holmes. Even if we pass on Holmes for Lawson, I'd be a very happy dude. Lawson would play OLB in our system, obviously in the 3-4. He's be a great pass rusher. I mean, the guy is very athletic & fast for his size, and he's got a great burst. He'd be a PROBLEM on the other side of Jason Taylor. 2006's Shawne Merriman?

Lawson would be a great add. someon who can play both DE and OLB. Hodge just doesn't do it for me. I'd love to see JT and Manny Lawson come at QB's from both sides. Lawson runs a 4.45- 40. He's 6'6" 245lbs and can jump through the roof. He's an unbelievable athlete. I think we will be okay at Safety. Tillman and Bell both played well last season when Jones was hurt.

My 5:

-Santonio Holmes
-Manny Lawson
-Donte Whitner
-Jimmy Williams
-Kamerian Wimbley

I'm not familiar with Lawson that much, but I have a question for those that are: since he played with Mario Williams, is it possible that he was just a product of Williams drawing the double teams, just like we've seen in Miami with Mixon, Bromell, T. Armstrong? Lawson sounds like a good pick, its just something I thought about. Any info?

Ultimately I'd love to trade down a spot with Minnesota by baiting them into thinking we'll take Cutler. Maybe pick up an extra 3rd or 4th. I think we can pick up Maurice Stovall in the 3rd round at WR. He may not be fast but at 6'5" he'd be hard for Nickelbacks to cover in the middle of the field.

my takes for the first round:
1-donte whitner
2-manny lawson
3-jason allen
4-lendale white
5-sinorice moss

mark my words, stovall wont be there in the 3rd
at first he was said to be a LATE 1st, EARLY 2nd. now its lookin like he's a sure second. hes not a burner, but he's fast enough. mid 4.5
but his size, hands, and route running, combined with the fact he can go up and get any ball. the kid is legit. but no way he's there in the third.

Lawson and JT would be something else. what happens with Roth?

All these names you guys are listing are exactly why we should trade down. We can trade down once, or even twice, and still get a quality player that will upgrade our team.
