Why, exactly? Not arguing, just curious. The secondary was never great.

I guess we can blame Bowles for Will Allen's injuries(ssss)...or Nolan Carroll suckiness... Or Y. Bell's age..... if we want continuity on defense, Bowles has to be the guy...

Sure they can force him to say but if you're a new head coach would you rather keep an unhappy holdover from the previous staff or bring in your own guy?

Few if any rookie head coaches can pick their own staff. They have input and get a few guys they want. But almost NO rookie head coach will handpick his entire staff. It doesn't work that way in the NFL.
