I would like to start with some full disclosure here:

So i am personally a subscriber to the thinking that fisher is merely the safe pick and not my favorite choice to lead this franchise because of his run first style and the fact that offense in the Nfl has become such a pass first. I think that many of us see him as more of a lateral move from sparanos style rather than a 180 to a pass first NEW age NFL Offense that seems to be taking the league by storm.

BUt MAYBE , JUST MAYBE HE is the right man for the job?

Watch video:http://www.nfl.com/videos/auto/09000d5d820d72e7/Jeff-Fisher-Two-a-day-practices-are-over

The first thing that jumped out at me was the fact that He seemed to from day one want to continue coaching. So none of the may have lost his drive or desire to coach. Then he says hes excited to get his next opportunity to try to finish his goal of winning a championship.

Even Beyond that this video gave me some hope. I found it interesting that Fisher says that when he first entered the league in 1994 that approximately 80% of his time was X's and O's and that when he was fired he was down to around 15%. HE said he would use the 2011 season to study the X's and O's around the league.

Maybe we are all a little Naive to believe that all of these "great" coaches would refuse to adjust their coaching philosophies esp when its something as obvious as the dominance of the passing games success and its correlation to success in the NFL of late. I mean why wouldnt a coach who is capable of understanding the X's and O's to the level of a Jeff Fisher type change their philosophy to take advantage of the rules and changes in the modern game in order to increase their chance of winning Super Bowls??

IDK Why but Im starting to come around to the Idea of Jeff Fisher. . . Which obviously means he will not accept our Head Coaching Position now lol .

Anyways figured id share the video so we could all get to listen to some recent thoughts and Ideas from the man that like it or not may be our new HEad coach in the 24hrs.

Thoughts?

A whole season to study the game and a drive to win a championship. Sounds like a good deal. Now if he would just make his decision already.

I like that he seems to be concerned about getting back to X's and O's. He's better there than meddling too much in personnel decisions, imo.

Agreed, It seems he is hungry to get back into the game and rededicated to his craft. Love that he is open about talking care of Tht unfinished business

first of all, he looks like a hockey coach... now, with that said, I like what i heard. he seems very no nonsense. He knows whats what, and i think hes what this organization needs (ala marty shottenheimer).

I will laugh my *** off though, if he picks up vince young in the offseason..

I would hope the year away gives him a real chance to step back and anaylize the NFL today under the current rules structure. There is a reason Marino's records held so strongly for about 20 years and have now been obliterated in the last 5.

I found that a bit encouraging regarding Fisher and the perceived negatives of him being an old fashioned coach. I do think he had much to overcome in Tennessee regarding ownership issues and the lack of committment to winning thereof. He also suffered from the same thing that has plagued the Dolphins of the last decade, the inability to find a franchise QB. When had decent quarterback play from McNair, or even Young or Collins his teams were pretty successful. McNair was the closest thing he ever had to a franchise QB, but he was slow developing after being drafted and was plagued with injuries that limited his career.

There was a time about 6-8 years ago that I was asked if I could have any coach in the NFL who would I pick and I said Jeff Fisher. He was consistant and his players respected him and he got a lot out of the talent he had. That was then and this is now. I am as ol school as you can get, but you can't ignore the idea that the NFL is a different league now.

Don Shula was one of the very few coaches I ever saw who was able to change his way of thinking. He won with the run, and went to a SB with a passing team. Who else can say that?? I think it takes a special person to change their way of thinking. I just am not sure that Fisher can change. I mean if you look at the way he finished it doesn't make you sit up and say, "ahh he gets it". They were still a run first team.

I am personally on the fence with Fisher. If we get him I will be happy and pull for him to lead my dolphins out of the cellar. But the more I think about him the more I think I would rather see some new blood. Some times a long stay at one place can kinda beat you down and steal your confidence. IMO I saw a man in that video that reminded me too much of Nick Saban after a year in the NFL. Still talked a good game but you just didn't see that hunger in his eyes.

If he chooses to go to the Rams I would not be upset. To me he looks like a 90s coach with a 90s haircut. Not sure who I would rather have, but when I see Fisher, I don't see young passionate confident, coach who can sell his ideas to 53 grown men. JMO

yup I agree.

the dolphins can do a lot better than this guy

Yeah I think the main question is if we believe him about getting back to the x's and p's if so We could have a.great motivated leader of men who hopefully has a bunct of new ideas aKd wrinkles after being away for a year and studying the whole league
