Interesting interview w/Armstead on Eisen's show

Or is it more like other GB backup QBs who left to become starters elsewhere and went to 3 Pro Bowls, like Hasselbeck and Brunell? Willis has far more talent than any of those guys did.
Keep fighting the good fight and pounding the table for Willis, Brother @Fineas . Brother @djphinfan and myself concur wholeheartedly.

Haha I wonder how many people here understand the reference.
Billy the Kid: In both historical accounts and modern retellings, the outlaw is often portrayed as a victim of circumstance whose life of crime was forced upon him by corruption. He reportedly claimed, "I'm more sinned against than sinning".

General George Armstrong Custer (Contextual)
While a controversial figure, some perspectives, particularly in the immediate aftermath of his death, portrayed him as a victim of circumstances, though this is heavily debated.

The Quote (Associated with his critics): "He is universally despised by all the officers of his regiment, excepting his relatives and one or two sycophants."

The Context: This quote highlights the internal and political conflicts within the 7th Cavalry, which suggests Custer was often fighting his own subordinates as much as the enemy.

Don’t include me with his analysis as I haven’t said yeah or nay

Ingold may agree to a pay cut. He fits this scheme like a glove, and there is a need for a FB. Kyle has his Juszczyk, and Slowik had one in Houston named Andrew Beck, whom they may try to sign if the Jets cut him. Most teams do not roster a pure FB, so Ingold's options are limited if the team approaches him to remain, but with a reworked deal that lowers his cap hit.

McDaniel has described fullback Alec Ingold as a "physical thumper" whose blocking is essential to the run game's success because it creates better angles for offensive linemen and generates critical leverage at the point of attack.
McDaniel has emphasized that Ingold's impact goes beyond just his direct blocking assignment, describing him as an "ultimate point guard" for the offensive line.
Key points McDaniel made about Ingold's role in the run game include:
Creating Angles: When Ingold moves from the backfield to the line of scrimmage, his presence makes the angles better for the center and adjacent linemen on their targets.
Physicality at the Point of Attack: McDaniel noted that Ingold's ability to get up a head of steam and meet defenders head-on allows the team to "compress force" and set a tone, which he describes as the "trickle down" effect of his blocking.
Systemic Importance: McDaniel stated that you cannot realistically expect to run a high-level offense while "phasing out the fullback," indicating Ingold's blocking is integral to the team's scheme.
"Problem Solver": Ingold's ability to "fix things on the fly" and keep things clean for running backs was highlighted as a key element of the run game's success.
The importance of Ingold was further highlighted by the team's dramatic drop in rushing production when he was sidelined with a calf injury in 2024, with the run game average falling from 149.5 yards to 63.3 yards per game in his absence.
To have a good running game, we needed a fullback (most teams don't employ one) AND 6th offensive lineman.

What she has a second song?
It was a cover. So more like half a song.

She also did Limp and Fast As You Can. She's not a one hit wonder. Maybe those weren't technically hits? Isn't a song usually a hit when it has a music video made for it?

Not a fan of paying a 27 year old QB who has 6 NFL starts big money. He was terrible on the Titans. He looked good this year in GB, but realistically he started 1 game so it’s an extremely limited sample size. Play Ewers in 2026. Draft a QB in 2027. If we cut Tua, his dead cap will be off the books in 2028 and we have a rookie QB contract to build around.
Agree. I want no part of Willis on the Fins!

Man, playing with the "manage roster" option on there and it gets really ugly to try to get under that cap unless you do a bunch of extensions. I post June 1st designated Tua and Hill. I released Chubb, Jackson, Daniels, Ingold, Saunders, Minkah and Westbrook and only got 2 mil under the cap. It left me with 46 players and a lot of those won't see the field. Oh, and I converted Brooks cap number to some bonuses to get cap relief. They need some tricky work unless they push more cap down the road.
Try again with releasing Hill and keeping Tua. The delta there makes the rest manageable. We have some guys worth extending anyway.

Reminds me of another QB out of Green Bay that barely had any action and got a large (at the time) contract.

Matt Flynn was 26 years old when he signed a 3-year, $26 million contract with the Seahawks in 2012. At the time of signing, he had only started two games in his NFL career.
Is Garappolo also a comparable scenario or did he take small money after the trade our of NE?

Sorry brother. Since you started the thread, I presumed you were solidly in the corner for signing Willis.

Pff has him rated as the 7th best fb and he’s the highest paid fb in the league. He presents 0 presence in the pass game as a receiver and has missed a number of crucial catches.

Also not buying the drop in yards as it’s skewed. The two games he missed in 2024 were also the first two games that Austin Jackson missed who is a great run blocker. That likely had far more impact than ingold as the really couldn’t run well after Jackson’s injury. Also Miami won both games ingold missed.

Just don’t see his worth. I guess if he comes back for 2 million or so but he’s 30 at the start of the season and likely 31 by the time Miami is relevant. Has to be a young hungry udfa cam skattebo type that just wants to crack heads out there in the world.

As @Fineas posted the breakdowns for, our yards per carry was less without the 6th OL than they were when we used a 6th OL.
Yes, I know. But I hope we can generate a good running game with just our 5 linemen. That way we can spread the defense out more if we have more receivers on the field.

Willis is going to get overpaid this offseason. I don’t think we can afford it. Sully said himself don’t expect any big FA signings. I think they rather take a swing at someone they can develop.

-22million on the cap right now. Only around 30 players on contract. You could argue Brandon shore could rework contracts, but that would create void years and more dead money down the road.
I am of this opinion too. Let's go the cheaper route with the high reward, although maybe somewhat higher risk. Let these new scouts find our franchise QB in the draft moving forward. He may not come from the 1st rd. either. Having said that, maybe Ewers develops into that guy. We should get a good look at him in '26. I am all for losing this next season if it makes us better in '27. Watching that NFC Championship made you know we are a long ways from being good.

Skattebo is a better rusher with the ball in his hands. He is also a "high-motor" guy too. I like Ingold and understand his value in McD's offense, but he is going to have to take a pay cut if he wants to stick around. For what it's worth and I know this was not your comment, but McD is no longer on the team and his previous opinions should not carry lots of value in Miami. If so, we should have just kept him.

Willis will probably get big money in the offseason from another team more ready to compete. I am betting no way Sully pays big money to any FA QB's this year. Just a hunch.
