Interesting Look Ahead for Phins in 2017

Miami has only 13 players under contract for 2017, just two short years away. As of now, we would have over $100M in cap space. This includes Grimes and Albert for $18M, who will likely not be here in 2017.

Are Phinatics comfortable with this? Do we see this as a Total Rebuild coming? OR, just a good move to see what we have in youth and drafts?

Adding 40 player 2 years is A LOT.

Most of those players will get resigned. Draft picls & FA will add to that too.

This is what Red Dawn and the front office get paid big bucks to do. Guarantee you that they are looking at least two years ahead on everything.

Agee but, how many players, other than Tannehill, are assured of being re-signed to relatively big deals without earning it this year? Pouncey and OV are far from assured of getting big deals as of now, and may be let go.

I'm just saying, 2 years as a fan is a long time. Players come and go besides a few superstars. I don't get to worried in next years offseason when this one isn't over yet.

Got ya, and wish I could do the same. Having only 13 player for 2017 can be looked at different ways. Some may say that we will re-sign many players, no big deal. Others may think that the FO is not now happy with what we have, and looking for a big turnover.

Hopefully, many players prove their worth this year, and we have around 40 players signed by next year but, that is not a certainty.

Vernon this upcoming season, more than any other, NEEDS to show me something. NO EXCUSE he should easily register double-digit sack numbers!
