I'm not sure if anyone else caught this...but when a reporter asked Ireland...what does it mean to the Dolphins that you have J. Long signed....his answer was we can now work on the 32nd pick and on our trades...Hmmm?

Everyone expects that J. Taylor will be traded...but I wonder if the Dolphins have another player or two in mind...one I can think of is Roth...I can't see where he fits on a 3-4...and I'm sure being a 4-3 DE...some team will look at him because of his age...another could be Martin.

I still think there is a chance Jason Taylor could eventually be moved considering he will likely be really slowing down once Miami becomes competitive.

Anything is possible...but I take Parcells at his word...Taylor will be a Dolphin or retire. Unless a team WOW's the Dolphins...Taylor has more value to just play out his contract.

Plus, presuming that Jake Long is a dominant left tackle over the next decade, the transition from bad to good might not take quite as long as some might think.

I wonder if Holliday will be moved. Remember Sparano forgetting his name at his presser?

nah...i dont but holiday being traded. he'd solid, and he is new to the team. so he prob doesn't know everyones situation just yet.

I think Furg. Holiday, and starks would be solid for next years line.

after next year...they will move them or play them in more of a reserve role. and let next years draft fill in the AGE holes.

the fins put in a couple of stop gap guys until next years draft.

I asked in another thread but nobody replied so i'll ask here.
Did anybody hear the reporter tell Ireland he was a liar? I didn't hear her question but his answer was something like "thats for me to know and you guys to guess". Anyone know the question?
Also, who was the player on the Fins that they talked about Jake having prior conflict with?

The reporter said something about the comment he made about the "pillar of defense"...and asked him was it a slip...or a plan...and Ireland said...thats for me to know and for you guy's to guess.

She didnt call him a liar. It was a bit of a joke. She just asked about whether Jake would be the pillar of the D, and Jeff kind of laughed it off and said 'Thats for me to know and you to figure out'. Basically, it was done on purpose (as I predicted).

Im starting to warm up to the idea of trading JT. Dont see anyone else having much value, ESPECIALLY David Martin. Yuck. Roth will stick, you can never have enough defensive linemen.

I feel JT is heading to JAX, very strongly.............................

I also think there are some targets or a target that they want to see at 32, or they may try to move up a bit.

I have a feeling Roth will be traded...either prior to or after the draft....he just doesn't have the size you look for as a 3-4 DE.

Only if it's for a late first or 2nd and 3rd type of a deal, otherwise were set at OLB and can groom someone to eventually replace them. I look at it that next years draft will have some awesome LB's available - B.Cushing USC, Sean Lee PSt, J.Laurinaitis O.St, R.Maualuga USC.
There's a great chance that were picking somewhere in the 5 - 12 range next year.
