Interesting Peter King tweets

a lot of people on here are star gazers that believe because these guys won titles they know how to run an entire team. All the coaches (minus Gruden who took over Dungy's roster) had input on the rosters, but they had GMs who kept things in perspective. Only reason I was willing to give Cowher any control was he wanted to bring Kevin Colbert or Omar Kahn from Pittsburgh (allegedly). Gruden also had somebody in mind to bring with him reportedly, I want to say Tom Heckert.

Remember, Seattle gave Mike Holmgren full control in Seattle, but the Seahawks didn't turn into a good team until he was stripped of his GM duties

Well, correction. Fisher never won a title.

The rest is very very accurate.

Agreed. Could that man be Zimmer?

Replace R with Z...

I'd like to see what a combo of Ireland, Zimmer, Daboll, & Bowles could do.

WOW, WTF :err:

I've been saying the same thing for weeks. Show me any evidence why fisher should be able to have final say or at least veto what the gm wants to do.

I wouldn't have either. Those days in the NFL are long gone...it's just too big. I believe that untimately was Shula's undoing. My point however is why Ireland has survived being fired??? Remember he is a Parcells clone...with the SAME philosophy as the Tuna. That philosphy gave us Chad Henne, Columbo, Pat White, Philip Merling, and highly invested OL...that can't even spell "pass protection". It has also missed on young QB's like Dalton, Yates, Mallett. Has Ireland did some good things...yes, but missing every year on a QB in Miami is the unpardonable sin...He's got to go...yet survives.

i like ireland as our gm. i think he's doing a decent job after what the tuna did to this team.

Big difference is those teams have competent people running their organizations, not Jeff Ireland.

Same philosophy...yeah I liked how he adressed the QB situation last year...by-passing Dalton, Yates, and Mallett...but signing a back-up and presenting the fans with HENNE...AGAIN!
