I didn't know that. But do think he has a shot at Strahan's (ahem, Brett Favre) single season record? The record should still be Gastineau's in my opinion.
why try and trade him? hes been amazing, and hes the heart and soul of defense. if we trade him we take a huge step back on defense. we need him when we r gonna make a run at the playoffs or superbowl. he still has 3 yrs on his contract after this season and it would be a big cap hit anyway if we got rid of him.porter has been outstanding, definitely the gem of our defense.
if he hits 20 sacks, i wonder if we could spin him for a 1st round pick in 09. surely somebody would want him. so what would you speculate his value be?
**disclaimer: i am 100% behind the current dolphins AND joey porter. just forward thinking towards the next few years, as i really think weve got something special brewing in miami.
