From the FOXsports website, the Football Outsiders guys do quite a number-crunching job on the NFL. Here is their in-depth analysis on the state of the Dolphins and Raiders after breaking down the game:

They say that with just average (i.e. consistent) QB play, the Dolphins would be contenders.

Thats crap.

This team needs big help in the secondary and DL before they are contenders. Whoever blames this teams shortcomings solely on Gus Frerotte isnt really paying attention.

The Dolphins have either won or been within a touchdown of winning every time Frerotte has completed 50 percent of his passes. Unfortunately, that has only happened in six of 11 games

wow, six games of under 50% completion percentage... wow

Good read. Now everyone will know what we already knew...

I don't think the DL has played that poorly either. Maybe he's referring to the age of the guys that are contributing on the DL. Secondary unquestionably needs upgrading. But as the article says, our first priority no ifs, ands or buts about it is improving our QB situation.

I do think DL needs some youth injection. Especially at NT. The Secondary does need to be upgraded. However I think Miami lost more games due to bad QB play this year than bad secondary play

We have one. His last name is Vickerson. Remember he was cheap shotted from behind by some POS from the Falcons and tore up his knee. :fire:

I don't really see Vickerson as a NT.
