Other opposing Fans will look at the Dolphins and
put them in a categories with ATL and Bal as teams
whose are just over achieving .

Just look at the Cleveland Browns, last season the Browns was the
comeback kids after having regrettable seasons after seasons
now the Browns are a mess.....

As Fans of Miami Dolphins who would have truly "thunk" the FINs
will have a shot at going 11-5 or 10-6 after watching the
Fins this pre-season and losing the 1st two games in regular season........

Right on Target......
Yes, the Fins are benefiting for a weak schedule
but we're beating the teams as fan we believe we're
strong and more talented than...Last season was full of injury, bad coaching
and no direction.

Now the Fins are some what healthy, although over the last 2 games the dolphins have lost 2 starters on the offense..
Tony is coach his butt off and you can sense the Fin has a
direction....

Lets get excited GUYS ,this is the real thing
The Fins are starting to make there way back to the top
of the hill in the NFL........
comment please.............

Cleveland got the ultimate one year wonder in D.Anderson (the same guy some people here wanted us to trade for!!!) last year and now once reality has settle in their right back at square one. They are talented on paper but Edwards leads the league in drops, there's no real run game, they relied heavily on an unmotivated DT in Rogers and for some stupid reason traded away one of their CB's in which they need now.

We on the other hand relied on a proven QB, hard working NT in Ferguson and drafted our way into this position not trading for players other teams were trying to get rid of. Yes our schedule allows for some help but we also play some of the better teams in the league aswell.

Where Cleveland might have to start over or just keep struggling, we can fill a few holes in one offseason and start contending year in and year out.

Thank you R.Spielman/Wanny/Nicky/CamCam if not for your stupidity BP/JI/TS may be employed somewhere other than here. We will be thanking you for many years to come.

I think we are overachieving but that's fine because we are rebuilding this franchise. Even though we may be overachieving this year we should be even better next year so hopefully there won't be any noticeable drop in our record. I think the biggest thing that has helped us this year has been the fact that we basically never turn the ball over. That helps cover up some of our other shortcomings.

I have had that same thought about the Browns and whatnot. The fact is that we have had the 4th easiest schedule in the league, but I am enjoying every minute of it. The difference in us vs. the Browns is that we actually have a good front office and coach.

Romeo Crennel is a joke. The dude has no passion about anything, After a play, if you didn't know what happened in the play and they just showed Romeo you couldn't tell me what happened. They could have got a touchdown to win the game in the last second, or fumbled a ball on the goaline. He sucks. I have watched every Browns game this year because my friend is a huge fan. Oh yeah, and Shaun Rogers has been a beast this year. He along with Joshua Cribbs have been bright spots for an otherwise bad team. Brady Quinn also showed some talent. Let it be known that I like Ted Ginn though, and would rather have him than Brady.

So there are some definate simularities between us, but the difference is when we are watching the 3-5 prime time games that the Dolphins get next year they will be doing better, not worse.

I wouldn't say we are over achieving. Yes, we are benefitting from an easy schedule, although we play in a tough conference. I think we have a solid foundation and we can play with anybody, but we are doing what young teams do. Thats look really good one week and not so good another. I think with another draft, some good FA pick ups, and a year with the coaching staff we will get a lot better, which we will really need to. Our schedule next year isn't nearly as easy.

Well like the Browns last year, the Fins are benefiting from a very weak schedule.

I mean you could'nt ask for better than been paired up with the NFC and AFC West divisions.

I think we are over achieving but thats a good thing. We are learning how to win.

We have a solid staff who will keep trying to improve the rightway, and we also have some good young core players to build around, plus a solid QB situation.

I don't see a big fall off next year like the browns. I think the fins are back and will be from now on.

I'm not going to Say the Word S____ B___!

I have a good Feeling about where the Fins are going to be come January 2009
(no not at home)

Remember when Tuna &co. take over the Pat and went to the SB,
now that was unexpected that year....

on target

please read whole post. i feel we may be under achieving. All of our defeats are to teams with winning records ( except Texas ) and each is in the playoff hunt. I feel the under achieve is based on what has been said on this site numerous times, our inability to "turn it up " on lesser team. I feel this team is good enough to dominate some teams but we seem to play down. YES, a win is a win and I am enjoying them all but we are better than a 2 point win over OAKLAND ( as an example). This team is a work in progress and as this year has shown, "any given sunday" ( except Detroit) is a rule here. Yes we have a weak schedule but we still have to play each game and execute , which we are doing. This team and coaching staff has stepped up and done very well but I would like to see a blow out once in a while. I would love to see Henne and the rest of our future ( maybe) get in the games. Nobody is laughing anymore at Miami but I want to see FEAR when they get off the plane to play us and that time is coming soon.

Buffalo may be close but the 49ers and chiefs we need to destroy. It will help if we end the season tied with other teams ( if it gets that far down the tiebreaker list). If it gets past Division wins, conf. wins I believe it gets to points for and against. Please correct me if I am wrong. This team is doing great and proud is an understatement.

Lots of people point to only a 2 point win over Oakland, or last week against St. Louis. A win is a win. The Jets lost to Oakland. Oakland dismantled Denver 2 weeks ago. The Cowboys lost to the Rams, so did the Redskins. Look, should the be beating bad teams by more points - yes, does it matter - no (unless you are betting on them)! The Patriots rolled over tons of teams last year during the regular season, does that matter now, no because they lost in the Super Bowl.

Now, to the original question, overachieving, underachieving or about right. Tough call. I think right now they are about right, but have far exceeded my expectations. So wouldn't that sound like overachieving? I think we can agree that they had more talent than 1-15 last year, just a horrible coach. Sparano, has this young team learning how to win and believe in themselves, that takes a lot. They don't have the talent to make a deep run in the playoffs, but they are certainly learning what it takes to prepare week in and week out in the NFL. That will pay huge dividends down the road. I lean towards about right.

I think we're overachieving. Don't get it twisted, I love the wins but this is team that still lacks talent, and most definately lacks solid depth. No worries, though. Three more solid draft classes should take care of all that.

I would not say Cleveland overachieved. They had a great offense last year and thought all they needed was to get Shaun Rogers and Corey Williams to shore up their defense (neither of whom ever played the 3-4) Only Rogers has had a good season, and the rest of the defense is putrid.

Add in Braylon getting hurt early (and having a case of the dropsies), K2 getting a staff infection, Stallworth being out the first part of the season, and Jerivicious not even playing yet (to my knowledge anyways), and you've got a recipe for a down year. I also think that Derrick Anderson never fully recovered from the concussion he suffered in the preseason.

We're doing good because Pennington knows what he can and can't do, and what weapons he has. We don't have a go-to guy at WR, nor does Penny have a huge arm, so we do a lot of dink and dunk short passes to slowly move down the field. Had we started Beck or McCown (I don't think we would've started Henne because he is a rookie), we would not be 7-5. I think we'd be better with Beck because in his limited preseason action he showed he could do the short stuff, but we are where we are because of Penny.

Our D is also solid. The secondary for the most part has been good (or atleast since Crocker was released), but they don't cause turnovers (though I am suprised that Allen,Hill, and Goodman all have multiple INTs). And nobody outside of Porter can get pressure on the QB

Wow !!
:err:

Wow !!
:err:

what? I wasn't hating on Beck I even said Beck would have been a better option that McCown, but to think we'd be 7-5 without Pennington is being overly optimistic. Without Penny, we are a 4 win team at best right now
