Should we invest into O-Line or D-Line?

I feel like we have sure starters on the O-Line in S. Satele and V.Carey.

D-Line the only sure starter would be J. Taylor.

With that said I feel like we need to invest in a quicker/younger D-Line. through Draft and Free Agency. (Such as J. Long, G. Dorsey, S. Ellis, A. Odom, J. Smith, T. Suggs)

Your Thoughts?

honestly if we trade down and draft jake long.. i would be all for it.. it will greatly improve the OLINE and give beck and the running game a huge boost..

Awhile back I didn't think Jake Long was an option for us but if we do move down then he is posible....Parcells likes big players and Carey would move to his better spot at RT and with Satele in the middle we'd have a great foundation up front.

Ozzy rules!!

I vote for D-line. Our o-line played pretty well last year, gave the QBs decent protection and was solid in the run blocking. On top of that they are young. The d-line played very poorly, on run defense and getting at the QB. Then add in that Taylor is 32 Holliday is the same I think and Traylor is....well lets just say done. Rodrique Wright is the only guy on the D-line that I would think will be around in 2 years.

If there are no trades I would like us to go Ellis in the first and Wheeler/Moffett in the third with a TE at the top of the second and J. Nelson at the bottom of the second. As for the 4th, 6th, 7th and Comp I would like o-line and CB/Safety.

both. d line needs it a bit more but both are bad. i would like a good bit of money to be put into both of them. rebuilding is from the ground up, which is on the lines. totally for tradind down and getting j long if that is a possibility.

I totally agree with you. I think nothing would help our team better than sprucing up our trenchs. I also think we need to trade down to get as much as possible.

Both are of the utmost importance but our OL is decent right now and will be even better next season with the experience gained this season and the probable addition of one or two more quality starters next year.

I would LOVE to see us sign a Haynesworth AND draft Chris Long. The Giants showed last night what a dominant D-Line can do. They were the deciding factor in that win. Put Brady, or any qb, on his asss most of the game and you've gone a long way towards winning the game.

A dominant D-Line also helps in pass coverage. The Giant's secondary is average at best but with Brady getting knocked senseless all night that weakness was masked.

Couldn't agree with you more! With pass rush means a upgrade for the coverage.

We need both. I don't care how good your offense is. If your defense can't stop the other team, then your offense never sees the field. If your offense can't move the ball, your defense gets worn down towards the of a game and you end up losing in the fourth quarter - the most important quarter of the entire game IMO.

Based on the looks of it, our o-line looks to be in decent shape. A couple of FA signings or someone in the draft and we should be alright, so long as we get a tight end that can BLOCK.

We need some help on the d-line and in the LB corps. Maybe Ezra Butler out of Nevada (great speed, great tackler from what I've read). I think he's going in the 3rd. If we don't trade the 1st overall, then I think Chris Long would be the most logical choice.

Like I said, we have a few quality guys on the o-line. A couple of moves here and there and we could have a pretty good line that give Beck some good protection. If we're switching to a 3-4, we're going to need help on the d-line and we're going to need more linebackers, especially if ZT ends up being pushed out the door.

D-Line without question.
Ronnie was on his way to breaking records behind the adequate (but not great) O-Line they had, but the D needs to be improved if you want to win games... and it starts at the line of scrimage.

I am not sold on Jake Long, but trading down and taking him would help. Especially if we can pickup on FA guard. We might be able to find one decent guard out of all our retreads. That would give us a solid O line. By the way, our offensive line has not been decent for 10 years. It is our continual flaw.

I know that we can pickup Pat Sims in the 2nd round, so NT is not critical for the 1st round.
