Ireland's signings will take this year to evaluate, and Hickey's will likely take two years. However, who in your opinion did a better job, and both had a ton of money to spend?

Ireland

Wallace- Did not play up to his contract but, did make an impact.

Keller- Looked great in preseason before the injury.

Gibson- Looked great before the injury.

Clabo- Horrible in 5 games, good in 9.

Grimes- GREAT.

Ellerbe- Disappointing but, may need a year.

Wheeler- More disappointing but, may need a year.

Biggest mistake- Not making the Albert trade.

Hickey

Albert- Good sign but, did overpay.

Smith- Not much to go on but, could work out well.

Moreno- Good vet sign.

Mitchell- Like the sign, think he will do well.

Finnegen- Questionable with high risk. We shall see.

Delmas- Maybe an upgrade over Clemons. We shall see.

Fox- High risk and may not make the team or be good. We shall see.

Biggest mistake- Not filling in the OL, same as Ireland.

So, who do you think has done a better job?

Me

I have big issues with both

How is Jason Fox high risk. He got 800k i believe your not paying him alot

Just the past injuries if Hickey believes he will contribute to the team.

It is too early to tell. There is nowhere to go but up.
The Ellerbee and Wheeler signings were terrible IMHO. Remember we got rid of Dansby and Burnett. The drop in production probably cost us the playoffs.
Add to that not signing Albert and realizing that Martin is not an NFL player. It was evident to me when we played Houston and he was rag dolled by Watt.
No NFL players gets abused like Martin did on and off the field. He could not admit his mistake.

He made a big risk if he's counting on him starting i agree. The money to me says he's depth.

The moves Ireland made in 2013 added to the moves Hickey made this year is why this team is a legitimate playoff contender this upcoming season.

It would depend on when Ireland knew of Martin's issues, if he knew Martin was suicidal and ready to quit the team at the drop of a hat well before this point in free agency then Hickey is already better and its not close.

And I had no problem with the way Ireland was handling the o-line as long as he added a player that could compete with Martin at some point, which never happened, and in my case I didn't even know of Martin's issues. Inexcusable for Ireland to gamble on Martin. Especially when you consider we had a **** tonne of cash sitting in the bank that we never used.

The moves Hickey made have a chance to improve this team....the moves Ireland made with just the LBs killed us! It is also not fair to say Hickey has not addressed the O-Line with the draft and FA still coming and open. Ireland sucked! SO glad that dude is gone!

Very true FA isn't over like if no TE is drafted I firmly believe we sign Keller or Finley post draft. The same can be said for other positions. Its incomplete

To soon to tell. Can't blame Hickey for not filling in the OL in FA. To much money for average players. Better off building through draft..

Yeah, and Philbin told him that Martin was not ready to play.
