Since before this year, he had the Tuna over him, I think we should make this past offseason the one we start grading him on, as we didn't know what was his decisions before and what was Parcell's

No longer on the team:
Ricky
Ronnie
Thigpen
Polite

Aquired:
Taylor
Columbo
Moore
Burnett
Bush

Draft:
Pouncey
Thomas
Clay
Wilson
Gates

Who have I missed? What do you think?

mixed bag

I give him credit for making running back probably the most stable position on the team. I do think he overpaid for Thomas and should of attempted to keep Ricky, but running back is one place I feel comfortable with going forward.

What he was thinking with Columbo is crazy. How he and Sparano could not see what was obvious watching the games is beyond me.

Draft was frustrating, but he got a good player in Pouncey. I would never pick a c/g in the first and think that pick could of been used better elsewhere, but at least he did not miss

I do think he missed on Gates, a 25 year old at the draft who still cant run routes.

You all have to remember that there was only like 2 weeks of free agency before practices began so they were limited.

I feel Ireland did well last year, Bush was a steal and will hopefully aid in D. Thomas development, Clay will be an asset b/c of his versatility plus Pouncey will anchor our line for a long time. Once Burnett got comfortable with the D he played great and Taylor played well and was able to retire a true Dolphin. In my opinion Columbo had Sporano's name witten all over it, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a Jet uniform next season.

Looking forward to see what can be put together with a normal offseason and with a fresh new outlook that Philbin brings.

I think people give him a lot of undeserved criticism...he has swung and missed a few times, but he has built a respectable team since cam got fired.he is pretty good in my opinion as an evaluater.he would look even better if gates comes around as a consistent deep threat on Sundays and not just in practice

Sparano after the Harbaugh cluster**** extorted more personnel control from Ross on that ridiculous contract renegotiation. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I'd be inclined to blame Sparano a lot more than Ireland for the Columbo Catastrophe, considering the OL was his baby and he coached Columbo in Dallas prior to him becoming a shell of his former self.

No GM hits on every decision. When you think back to where this team was before he took over and where it is now, you can't say it's not better. We have a young core and the pieces are there for a good team. I think the record last year had more to do with the coach. Even the guys calling the games would say they couldn't understand how this team wasn't winning because they had good players. I think this year's team will be much improved.

No longer on the team:
Ricky- Produced for the Ravens...Understandably that he was let go.
Ronnie- Great move to let go.
Thigpen- No need to resign, Moore ended up being shades better.
Polite- Still a questionable move..We could have used him in some situations. Was not the force he was a few years back..was starting to miss blocks, plus Clay played well in spots

Aquired:
Taylor- Not a great move, more of a nostaglia move. His leadership was there at times..
Columbo- Worst move ever?
Moore- Tunred out to be a very good move.
Burnett- Overpaid, Burnett didnt show up until mid season, could be an asset for the future
Bush- Stole him for nothing.

Draft:
Pouncey- Good player who contributed, alot of upside.
Thomas- Showed some flashes, needs to be better with limited touches
Clay- A player that we can build around. A hidden gem for sure.
Wilson- Not a bad Special teams player...one day could be a nickel back or Saftey..not bad depth for a 7th rounder.
Gates- Needs to improve. Has some upside, has alot of time to get better. Didnt get alot of attempts at Wr.

I blame the aquisition of Columbo on Ireland, but the bigger mistake was Sporano holds the greater responsibility because when seeing he did not have it, still continued to play him. He would have been fine on the roster as a sub/swing tackle in case of injury, but not as a starter.

My gut feeling is that Jeff Ireland is more repected around the league than fans in Miami are giving him credit for. Definitely needs to make the right move on the qb search, though, if he's going to stick around.

we'll see how he does this offseason...he needs to hit on 2 free agents and he better not take a guard at 8 or 9

Ozzy rules!!
