Rebutting an ESPN report from Thursday evening, owner Jim Irsay tweeted early Friday that the Colts have not medically cleared Peyton Manning (neck surgeries) to play football in 2012.
It's clearer now than ever that Manning's camp fed ESPN's Chris Mortensen the news of his supposed medical clearance. "Peyton has not passed our physical," says Irsay, "nor has he been cleared to play for the Colts. Team statement coming on Friday." Colts doctors are reportedly worried about the nerves in Manning's neck and triceps. While Peyton is notifying interested teams he's healthy, the Colts still need the medical excuse to decline his $28M bonus.

and the soap opera continues. still waiting for an official announcement from rob lowe.looks like irsay was tossin a few back last nite at 2 am. drunk twittering

Irsay is really starting to look dumb...

I think its pretty clear that Manning WANTS out of Indy.

Either way Irsay is going to look like the bad guy when everything is said and done, and it's probably warranted with that big mouth of his.

Good luck to Andrew Luck playing for that clown.

Irsay is in a tough spot.

Manning is one hell of a greedy mofo. He negotiated a MONSTER contract when he was injured, got paid over 20 million to sit and rehab for a year and now he is doing everything possible to get out of the contract and get more money from another team.

It looks like he is just completely unwilling to help out Luck or renegotiate his contract for his team.

He isn't ready to play and won't be ready for some time, if ever. The only reason to continue with the media politics is to get out of the contract early and get paid more millions to sit on another teams bench.

Irsay is trying to make it look like he is not the bad guy when he releases the greatest Colt ever. Peyton built that franchise and that stadium. So if he puts it out there that he is injured the fans won't riot. In one article he was cleared by his doctor along with the colts neurosurgeon. So if that is true it does not matter what irsay says he will be hated. Here is the article link. http://theredzone.org/BlogDescripti...dically-cleared-to-resume-career/Default.aspx

He's really starting to look unprofessional. I'm sure most Colt fans dislike him.

That's interesting...

Irsay basically has to say that he is injured or else pay him 28 million dollars. This makes me think that Manning will be cut sooner, rather than later. I now wouldn't be surprised if that went down next week :)

Release him before he gets healthy is probably what's going through Irsay's mind right now.

Irsay thinks he is bigger than he is, when he is nothing more than a check book. Manning is the Colts! With him, they won 10 plus games how many seasons? Without him, they won two games. Irsay just needs to STFU and make a decision. If he thinks he will win a PR battle with Manning, he is in for a rude awakening.

I still think manning signed that contract knowing he was injured. not wishing any ill will towards anyone, but manning understands the business side of football. he was paid handsomely last season and there's no certainty he will be able to perform @ his former level going forward. unfortunately, this is a business not a relationship.

The Colts have no plans on clearing him. Irsay and Manning are headed for divorce, and it gets uglier by the day.
