I know with this team we don't really belong there losing to BUF, TB, BAL, and blowing a lead to NE. Should be 9-1 (if only Sherman wasn't our OC....or in control on the final potential game winning drive we had. But looking around, our only competition is the Jets. I don't want to call what those games could be because Geno has his moments and we are what we are.

But I gotta imagine that the teams below us will win a few also, but don't see any of them winning their last 5-6 games. Hell does even 8-8 get you in?

Steelers, Panthers, Pats all scare me.

IMO, 9-7 will get the final wildcard spot. I could even see a scenario where the 6th AFC team gets in at 8-8. Though I would bet it is more likely the team is 9-7.

You say that the Dolphins don't really belong because of some of the teams they lost to. My question to you then is, what other team in the hunt deserves to be there over the Dolphins? If the Dolphins don't belong, neither do the Jets, Raiders, Steelers, Titans, Ravens, Browns and Chargers. Not one of those teams sets themselves ahead of any team in the hunt. Miami belongs just as much, if not more, then some of those teams.

Beat the Jets x 2, Bills, and Steelers and we likely get in with a 9-7 record. Steelers will be a tough one to win. 3 of those games are on the road as well.

I dont think 8-8 will get any team in to be honest. Remember there are 7 other teams with that are one game behind us. This is FAR from a 2 team competition to the playoffs!

It's very likely that if the Dolphins finish 9-7, they will be the #6 seed in the AFC. The only realistic situation in which Miami goes 9-7 and misses that 6 seed is if the Jets sweep the Dolphins, or if Baltimore goes on an absolute tear.

Let me say this, I would be thrilled with a 9-7 season the way this thing is shaking out. We aren't going to finish with a top ten draft pick. Let's break the trend of losing seasons, shall we?

I agree - it's pretty much a given that the #6 seed in the AFC is going to go to a heavily flawed team. You could make a merry-go-round list of who has beaten who among those teams. The Dolphins have beaten the Browns and Chargers but lost to the Ravens; the Steelers have beaten the Ravens and the Jets but have lost to the Raiders and Titans; and so on. Lots of games left with teams on this list playing each other. If nothing else, it should be entertaining.

10 to be sure...one team has to man up and go on a streak.

9-7 could get them in....10-6 obviously gets a team in.

I think the team could pull off 4 wins....just not sure what teams they will beat...they could beat the Pats, Panters, Steelers and Jets once and lose to Buffalo and Jets....just how the season is going

If the Phins make the playoffs, they deserve to be there. If they don't, they don't. No need to overthink it.
