Just a quick question. Is Jason Taylor a Hall of Famer? I think he will eventually be one but I could see him not make it. Check your biases at the door when answering this question.

Yes, he is only 0.5 sacks away from passing the great D. Thomas from Kansas City. Thomas's great career was ended short when he died, I think, in a car accident. Taylor was the Defensive player of the year and will more than likely end up 5-8 in career sacks. He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

I would say yes, if you look at the company he is in in terms of stats. He's also the all-time NFL leader in fumbles returned for TDs (6). It will probably take him a few tries to get in though..... But I think he'll be elected.

Yeah, I think so. It's impressive that he's what, 34, 35? and he's still playing at a high level. Great accet for any team, unless you're Washington.

It depends on what he does with the rest of his career. Playoff success is usually a strong point in the discussion(no matter how fair it is, it does play a factor) and Taylor hasnt been on teams with it.

The current belief with Kurt Warner is he is not a hall of famer, despite leading 3 teams(well 2 teams, but 3 trips to the superbowl) to the superbowl and winning 1. It is because he had a gap in his career where he had very little success. With JT its kinda the opposite, he has had sustained personal success but very very little team success.

Alot also depends on when he retires, how many others are going to be eligible. Last year Shannon Sharpe got denied to the hall of fame despite having 3 superbowl rings and breaking countless tight end records.

If Taylor were to retire right now, at the end of this year, would he be a hall of famer? eventually, possibly 25 years from now. Would he be first ballot? absolutely not.

Honestly depends when he retires.. would love to believe he would get in 1st ballot but dont think it will happen cuz lots votes goes to big names whom played in Superbowls and there are a lots of potential HOF's gonna retire soon or is retired* ie Farve,Lewis,Pace,Faulk,Ogden,Owens,ect..*

This.

i think that his zero results in the play-offs will seriously hinder his chances. but i think jt is awsome

No doubt he is a HOFer. He is one of the greatest DE's to ever play. Then add the fact he was Defensive MVP once, and holds records for most TD's and such I say he is a first ballot.

If he gets three more sacks he will be in the top ten all-time. He is also the all-time fumble recovery TD leader. If he gets three more sacks, I would say definitely.
